... by buying Battlefield 1 today. It was on sale through Origin for $36 and I couldn't restrain my urges.

Unfortunately, by the time it finishes downloading, the game will likely have devalued and its mutiplayer community will have moved on.

You actually bought an EA game? I am going to open your houses's Osgood Box, and press the Consequences button.

Everything's broken now. There's no getting into Windows and automatic repairs said "lol wtf u do?" If I'm lucky, I'm looking at a full Windows re-install. If not, a reformat then a re-install. Damn you, karma...

Just further proof EA hates its customers.

Nvidia's actually the one to blame here. The new equivalent of the BSOD happened when I began the driver update.

GTX 970 - I downloaded the update from the website, started the installation, and a few seconds later it gives me some error, then Windows pops up a message stating that the system encountered an error and will restart in 60 seconds. Upon this mandatory restart, Windows hangs on the startup screen for a few minutes. It usually starts in less than 30 seconds, so I hit the reset button. This time the system recovery comes up and tries to do an automatic recovery but fails. Looks like the only option I have left is a full reformat.

Bad and EA in the same sentence is a redundancy.

All you should have to do is system restore.
