Yeah. I'm not big on exercising, but I figured I need to start working on strength and endurance.

You'd be surprised how low the level of fitness most people have is.
"I was appalled by how unfit this guy was," Stevens [theft victim] told Cambridge News. "Despite his obvious age advantage and a good long head start, it was obvious I was going to catch him."
You get someone who drives everywhere and they'll generally only be able to run to the top of the road. Some proposals I've made for transport to company meetings have been greeted with horror because people would have to walk a whole mile. ¬_¬
I'm not Mr Fit, but I dare say my five minutes running a day puts me head and shoulders above most of the people I know.
'Skinny-fat' I think is the term. People who stay up late or whatever to keep their calorie requirements high vs consumption, but still eat crap and exercise little.

Agreed. I need to start doing crunches again. Gotta work off some ponch. Most I've ever done in one go is about 350.
Once you get a good momentum they're pretty easy to do.

Some proposals I've made for transport to company meetings have been greeted with horror because people would have to walk a whole mile. ¬_¬I live on a small island, in an even smaller village outside of the main town. I don't drive (no money for a license or a car), public transportation is scarce and costs a ton. So I'm often forced to walk to and fro the town whenever I have business there (usually classes). The distance between my house and town is roughly 7km. The walk is not particularly difficult either, not a lot of ups and downs. However, whenever I say that I'm gonna walk home (I do so regularly now) people look at me like "wtf?". I don't get why they're so surprised. It's a simple walk and 7km is not a huge distance. Though, I have to admit, it's pretty tiring in the summer, crazy sunlight here. But I build heat endurance, so it's worth it.
7 km is like, forever.
It's barely an hour if you walk normally and not like you've just been castrated.
Biking and running are probably the best ways to get fit quickly. They're also a lot harder than push ups and crunches though (and a hell of a lot more fun), which is why many people do 'casual running'.
What the fuck is casual running? Go fuck yourself.
