I mean, it's so ridiculous, like it starts some sort of competition or something. Also, it's a huge waste of time. I now spend over an hour a day looking through the 1-2 likes I receive, reading and re-reading them, trying to pretend that a few zeroes were at the end of the figure. They are like artificial ego boosters, designed to make you feel good about something you really have no right to feel good about.
They are a horrible invention and need to be stopped before GF becomes another Facebook (which I happen to be a member of).
Also, if like buttons are so necessary, where's the dislike button? What if you dislike a post? You have to either neg-rep them, or bad-mouth them and hope it doesn't lead to a ban. Are they afraid of tearing a person down, ruining his/her day? If that were the case, then artificially making someone feel good about himself/herself is just as wrong.
P.S. Like this thread if you read it. :naughty:
TL;DR, whine whine whine.
It still beats the rep system though.

You got a problem with that? =p
I hated the Like button before it was cool to hate the Like button...
Only on Facebook is it possible to like the like button.
