And i don't know why... And I want my 120$ worth of games back... And just in general... FUCK.
The announcement said something about the two mods (Hidden Source and Zombie Panic!) only being affected, but it's got me blacklisted for all VAC servers. Is it possible that it was a faulty ban on ValVe's part?
try contacting them :~
I was going to, and probably will at some point, the problem is that they have a very strict banning policy. According to their FAQs, even if your account has been stolen, banned, and retrieved they won't unban it. My only hope is that what happened to me is the beginning of some VAC2 glitch trend and they unban everybody affected by it.
But I <3 steam...
why is it in the spam actually? Just shedding of excess emotions?
Send a message to valve, not us. They permabanned many people from TF2 due to suspected hax, and it only took some emailing to convince them they had the wrong people.
Why spam? Mostly because I'd get plenty more responses like Commissar's anywhere else. This is here more for chatting purposes than anything else, I know you guys can't help me.
I did send valve a message, well see if they respond back with something useful. I tried to sound as freaking legitimate as I could.
Although I have read the FAQ's having researched this, I found that game modifications can not trigger a VAC ban. However a few days ago, having logged on to my steam account I saw a message which informed of being VAC Banned. Curiously however, the message then proceded to list games which will be affected. The list consisted of only two titles: "Zombie Panic! Source" and "Hidden Source".
This message was awfully suspicious, and did not quite make sense with the information provided under technical support. In short, there is one of two problems with VAC. 1) There is an error in the VAC ban message screen. In this case the error should list all VAC enabled games, instead of modifications. 2)VAC falsely Registers Modifications as a banable offense.
Under these circumstances I am hoping that it is the latter, or that I am part of an occasional trend of false-positive detections caused by a glitch. If however there was an actual cheating infraction on my computer, I would like to be told so in order to take preventive measures from this ever happening again.
Well Pingwin to be honest the Spam forum doesn't really go further than what we love here, that is spam.
I can't say why you were banned, I don't even know why you were banned. I'm sorry if my help is too much of a cookie-cutter response :/
Ah but you see, Help is not what I come here for! So it's all ok, ill consider your cookie cutter aid as SPAM!
