"Uncool: FMV cutscenes
Not really a moment, per se, but live-action cutscenes were a thing for a while in the 1990s, and Star Wars got into that game with Rebel Assault 2 and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2. Rebel Assault 2′s videos were actually not uniformly awful, but that’s because they had a lot of starfighter cockpit shots that weren’t dominated by horrible CGI.
Can’t say the same for Jedi Knight, though.
Either way, you should definitely spend some time watching them today because all these cutscenes are just a hoot, though a bit hard to think of as being canon. Though I guess if Attack of the Clones is in stone as canon, then pretty much we have to be able to roll with anything."
I'd just like to take this moment to say that this "Phil Owen" should be strung up. In addition to his grotesquely unclear writing that he clearly didn't revise, those cutscenes were fucking amazing.
For the time, yeah, they were pretty cool cutscenes. Way better than the odd torso-twist thing Katarn does in the Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy things, where he's running a full sprint forward, but his torso wants to turn all the way back to stare at the player.
