It could work, but it's not quite blaring enough yet for memedom. Sure, the ridiculous euro-80's dance moves paired with the repeated annoyingly one dimensional sax solo is pretty funny, but there's no shock/aw value to it. In its current state, this is essentially a simpler rehash of a Rick Roll.

It also doesn't compete very against some of the better established memes. For instance, it doesn't have the Kanye grade shock factor; nor does it possess the "WTF-Awesome" value of either Shoop Da Whoop or Over 9000; nor does it have a troll filled back story such as NEDM. In short, it's just mildly annoying/amusing. It needs further meminization before it can become a true catchy meme. Such things that could help this process could include (but are not limited to) things like the backing of anonymous, or photoshoped lazers, or sound editing to over-emphasize the saxophone.

After that, you need a creative medium for reposts to keep it alive, else it quickly becomes a dead youtube link. Oddly enough, in some strange form of internet irony, this requires originality to make it awesome (or infamous). I won't go into a debate on exactly what defines originality, but I will just say that people have a tendency to copy any material with such qualities. Hence why most of the popular memes are unique in their origins and forums usage, despite them all sharing common threads in the world of Spam.

Since this requires originality, I can't really give formulaic advice for how one would creatively invent a method for meme distribution. Most of the time, that's something that kind of forms on its own out of the entropic nature of Spam - usually resulting the meme actually centering around the spontaneously developed method of distribution.

But enough of my thoughts on the science of memes. Funny clip none the less. =p

Or perhaps the fact the it doesn't possess any of these qualities could be its original factor. I don't claim to know anything about this possible meme beyond the video itself.

I guess only time will tell if it catches on.
