Sick again for the third time this month! This time I lost my voice. I never realized how much I talked until today! Damn it! I want to talk
I recommend motor oil. It's good for the sinuses especially.

I was extremely ill not so long ago and lost my voice for 3-4 days in a row. And that struck me double as hard since I'm kind of building a singing career in the opera...
Your voice is truly a very unique instrument and one that can't be replaced once it's damaged or destroyed, so I highly recommend taking great care of it whilst you can't talk.
1) DON'T speak until it recovers, and especially DON'T whisper, for whispering is more damaging than anything else due to the way the vocal chords are passing air through.
2) Go to the apothecary and get some tablets for your throat (whatever they're called)
3) DON'T clear your throat by making that one sound. Just coughing is better considering that is a natural thing to do, which means your body will naturally react to it and minimize damage to your vocal chords
4) Always breathe using diaphragmatic or abdominal breath support. :)
EDIT: Just noticed this is in spam... oh well, I guess it's of no harm..

I suggest screaming loudly. You see, when you lose your voice, the cords are all tightened, and can't vibrate, which means it's very hard to make sound. If you scream, it's forcing them to loosen up, the same way you stretch out sore muscles. You should scream for 5 seconds every hour for a few days, and you should be back to normal.
Hmm, I often lose my voice after going to amusement parks, since I scream like a little girl. Am I screaming too much or not enough?
Perhaps my technique is flawed?
Too much screaming can be bad. You have to find a balance, like with any exercise.
Eat bacon. It might not help you get your voice back, but at least you'll have had some bacon.
I vote for the bacon option.
Seems to be the healtiest andmost tasty
