The Great Yak Plan-Part One

Let me first set the situation in which this plan will take place. On Wednesday I was informed that there was going to be a trip being offered by the school to the Himalayas next summer .Wonderful….a whole month of trekking and visiting and exploring wonderful cultural things. However….I happened to hear the fact that there will be different roles for members of the team during the visit. One of them was “looking after the yaks”. Brilliant! – Me…in charge of yaks! Surely this was an opportunity that would be stupid to miss! So I could easily spend the month commanding this small group of yaks to do meaningless tasks…but why not go one step further?

That’s right….to conquer the Himalayas, then the rest of Asia (eventually) !

It’s all about the yaks

“The yak (Bos grunniens) is a long-haired humped domestic bovine found in Tibet and throughout the Himalayan region of south central Asia, as well as in Mongolia

Thanks wikipedia….

Yes…yaks are lean, mean, fat reducing grill….erm…they are big…and stuff. Yaks are large powerful animals that will strike fear into the hearts of the local villages and cities alike. They alone could be a strong force for small villages and will send people fleeing in terror. Imagine the situation – you are a villager in a small settlement picking fruit or something(I don’t know)…and then all of a sudden you spot a large group of around 100 of these menacing beasts preparing to charge your village. They will have the whole of Asia in fear! (Not guaranteed)

“Wild yaks can weigh 1,000 kg (2,200 lb). They usually form groups of between 100 and 300 animals.”

That in itself is a truly scary thought. But to be more dramatic and raise terror levels to an all new high! : YAKS.jpg

Wild yaks play a very important role in this whole plan, as you can see the sheer amount of yaks in a group is a powerful force indeed(not illustrated in cruddy picture!). Once my small platoon of yaks is formed then it’s over to them to convince the wild yaks to join their cause .This could be either through persuasion (think large yak meetings) or through brute force. It’s only with the help of the wild yaks that I can truly branch out forces from the Himalayas and conquer the rest of Asia. Then the World!...but im getting too ahead of myself here.

“Wild yaks stand at 2 meters tall at the shoulder” (According to wiki….maybe they were on stilts?), and domestic yaks are roughly half that size .Now you start to see the importance of the wild yaks.

I think the 2 different yaks will play different roles in this. So the purpose of the plan I shall split them into proposed different roles:

Domestic

- Can be used as scouts to infiltrate human settlements and gather information or destroy communication devices etc. - Because of their domestic nature, they can easily blend in to human settlements without raising any suspicion. -Can be used to carry items or things such as satellites for wide spread communication between yak platoons. -Can rally the wild yaks and make them more efficient fighting machines. -Used to convert and persuade the wild yaks to the great cause. -Can use large horns in self-defence if needed.

Wild

-Warriors –eager to fight in large numbers. -Due to their large size, they can be equipped with heavy weapons such as machine guns. -Can be equipped with armour is needed. -Their large size also allows them to carry a lot of heavy equipment. -Horns are deadly when combined with the huge driving force behind them. -Large forces can destroy some buildings in villages

I shall post more information regarding the next stage (Oh yes...there is much more yak analysis to get into) soon.

 • (Disclaimer-I am not a mentally unstable person who has some bizzare fascination with conquering Asia with the aid of yaks.No wait...I probably am...nevermind)
