The last few years I've been wondering if it was legal for my elementary school to use fourth and fifth graders as "cheap labor". Fourth and fifth graders could volunteer about twice a month to work in the cafeteria doing any number of things such as serving the meals, or cleaning the dishes. As compensation we received a free meal, and if you cleaned dishes, ice cream for a bonus.

If there is anyone here with a legal background, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. Therapists need not post, I always enjoyed it.

As long as they don't work more than 160 hours a week I don't see an issue

Well, when I was his age, I lived in a tiny, old tumbled-down house, with great holes in the roof...

It's voluntary, so if you were stupid enough not to notice them sing behind your back that's not the law's fault.

In my day, we worked 200 hours a week when we were first vomited out of the womb, if we were lucky enough to have one, most of us were vomited out of the primordial ooze, and if we were lucky, had working thumbs and eyes and walked halfway cross the fiery, molten globe to get to work!

Medafusion does not see a problem with maybe volunteering maybe 1 hour a week for little kids but if they get tired they could take a break..
