Areas of the UK have been declared as drought areas, and one of those areas is my county - Staffordshire. One visionary (Baz from Burslem) has come up with what is an amazing idea for filling up the reservoir in the area (TITTESworth Reservoir), and his "Give Something Back Drought Appeal" has swept through the area like wildfire - something that is now a distinct possibility in this "drought" with the associated hosepipe ban.
So, here is a link to the audio recording of Baz's phone call to Signal 1 radio. I have no idea if it works outside the country, and even if it does there's a pretty high chance that nobody will be able to understand it, the guy has a pretty strong accent.

He wants people to pool their water to fill the resevoir? Communist.
British Gulag...?

I like the way he wants to take the water from our taps to the reservoir so we have more water for our taps

There's an old folk tale/joke I remember somewhere about a guy who got into a dispute with his neighbor over who got what with a nearby pond. They divided the pond into two with a fence or some barrier. The guy feeling he needs more water, goes out into the lake, and thinking he could get more water on his side of the pond, gets a bucket to try and move water from one side of the partition to the other.
Needless to say he didn't succeed in defying physics.
Speaking of uneven water level, there's a Youtube video on that page now, the presenters and 3 members of the public went to the reservoir to "fill it up" with water. Unfortunately, it was raining, and they only filled one side anyway, so they'll have to go back to the other side.
