The 'pilot' species have been extinct for thousands of years. The predators found the aliens and use them for hunting. And Yautja are what the predators call themselves. Humans are "Ooman", or something like that, meaning "soft meat".

I saw Avp and my friend, that doesn't know as much as I do about the whole alien thing, said the predator ship is the ship that crashed on LV-426. Its a slim possiblity, but who knows, certainly no one for that matter, since there is no official evidence about that. All we know about the ship on LV-426 is that it was a ship and a race called the "pilot people" were on it. Anything else about it is fan fiction. The pilot could be a predator that has had lots of sediment and dirt and other stuff on him and is kinda decomposed, also when you think about it, the ship kinda looks like a pred design. Critizise this all you want, I'm just coming up with this as I go.:uhm:

avp2Slasheralienthe ship kinda looks like a pred design.

Eh? Predator design looks nothing like pilot tech. The whole pilot ship is remanicint of an alien hive (it's got the Giger touch). The predator ship looks more technological. And there would have to be an awful lot of dust to triple the size of the predator, and then what kind of process would it have to go through in order to give it a trunk and put the chestburst opening on the very top layer of the 'dust'? No, they are completely different species. The predators simply found the aliens and use them for hunting.

Actually, if you look at the inside of the Pred ship at the end of Predator 2, if you eliminated all of the lighting, and the fog on the floor, it does look strangely similar to the derelect that was crashed on LV-426. Also, I seem to remember something in Primal Hunt about the Ancient Predator being somewhat larger than a modern day Predator. There is also the camera angle that the "pilot" scene was shot with in Alien, as Caine and the others climbed onto the platform. As they approach, the pilot seems huge, but when they are examining his chest, he looks more "pred" size. I've had this same theory about the Preds breeding the Aliens as well. I think it's something that they should develop further if they do a sequel to the new AVP movie.

So if all the lights on the predship went out because they just lose power over time, and also there is a layer of fog over the eggs, kinda like on the floor of the predship in Predator 2. That would be a strange way to connect everything together and solve the mystery behind the ship.

Right. And we all know the ship in Alien had been there for many years. So if the extrerior of the ship looks somewhat different than what we consider to be a pred ship, that could be attributed to design progression. There's enough little connections that can be made, it's just that the writers have to be able to see the similarities and seize the opourtunity for a more in depth tie-in.

Kind of off subject, but if you read the comic series ALIEN: Earth Wars, you kind of get the impression that the Aliens are just used as a kind of biological warfare device used to clear a planet of life forms before the "Pilot" species moves in. It's just the comic book writer's idea, but I thought that was interesting take on the whole alien / pilot / human species connection...
