This might be a really simple question but I bought the game a couple weeks ago and whilst the game rocks, the manual was a little thin!
Is there a way during a game that you can rotate the view around, and/or is there a way you can rotate a building around before placing it on the map. Sometimes I have a wall that is on an angle and I want to place a building up against it but I am unable to rotate it a little so I can do so.
Hopefully you're all going "duhh...you just press this button..."
In the map editor, pressing Ctrl and the left or right arrow keys, or scrolling the mouse wheel you can rotate the map. in the game, you can use only the mouse wheel. As an extra thing, you can zoom in and out by using the + and - keys on the numpad (on the right of the keyboard). As for rotating buildings, you should put the buildings first, then the walls. But you can rotate buildings, just do it in the same way. Click a building from the object list and scroll the mouse wheel. Then it will rotate it. Duhh! (no it actually took me a while to find out so its not really a "Duhh!")
Wow! Even I didn't know the + and - will zoom, that works in the game?? while playing?? awesome!
I got 2 q's:
1. Does the mouse wheel rotate the map up and down, so its flat, like in the cinnematic scenes and in the pictures when you install the game?
2. Is there an alternative control key to use? (dont have a mouse w/ weel :( )
Control+ left or right rotates your map.
sideways for rotation zoom for + and - but u can't look at em profile style
I would download New Editor 7 from somewhere (search on google for it) its by "reyk" and then you can have a handy pitch tool in the map editor; tons of other stuff too! its at this link:
So try it out, it lets you use pitch and over 300 map editor modifications!!!
I strongly recommend it!
just downloaded it ;)
