I'm a mod noob, looking for advice and answers about modding my installed game. Anyone know about mod downloads and confilcts? I'm on dial up so no online games for me but I've done all the games, missions and maps thru brutal and bored with it now. Can I download mods and simply install them into my game? Are there conflicts with different developers' mods installed in the same game? Which mods are best, with fewer glitches and bugs? Thanx, shboom

go to www.cnc-files.com and look through the collection of mods they have. i am sure you will find something which you like the look of. most have readme files with detailed installation instructions. also, you might like to check out Pro:Gen by Deezire @ www.deezire.net . it is considered to be one of, if not THE best mod out there for Generals.

you might also like to try making your own. basic ini editing is really simple and you can get some great results. you'll need to download this:FINAL BIG and extract the ini files. look around and you will find lots of easy ini editing examples.

Perhaps you'd like to try out my mod? It's called 'Warlord Sponge and the Wheels of Steel'. You can find it here . Current status is at V1.01 - I do have a V1.02 at home but I haven't yet decided if the GLA stealth general's Jackal attack transport chopper is balanced enough yet. V1.02 will probably be the last version before I start testing my new side in it - the Warlord Sponge himself. Since there's been no help with the buildings (although X47 has said I could use stuff from his mod if I need to) it'll use a medley of existing buildings for the base (though it shouldn't look too bad). Hope you do try it out. Reviews and constructive criticism can be posted here at my mod's forums.
