Hi all, first post on the boards, sadly its a problem to do with generals :(
The game pauses (just freezes) for a couple of seconds every 12 seconds. I can't seem to sort it out at all.
I have stopped all background running programs, all services i could, changed video drivers, installed latest chipset drivers, reinstalled the game, tried all patches up to 1.05 with no fixes.
Running a 2400+, epox 8rda+, corsair pc3200LL 512meg ram,win XP SP1.
Tried overclocked and un-overclocked and the problem always happens.
Can anyone help?
I didn't make it!
I think u lag couse of lousy internet connection...
LOL, sorry, should have explained...this is in all gaming modes (i.e. single player as well)
so its not a net connex problems. I am running on 512k ADSL anyway so there wouldnt be an issue there. Thanks for the reply though.
Em doesn't this go under problems&errors?!
I have no idea what how to solve that. Is it just lagging or really freezing, like for a couple of seconds?! did you try reinstalling it?!
call tech support, or read the system requirements to make sure you have all the necessary specs.
i've had that happen to me while running "A General's Battlefield" (huge 4 player map) with brutal AIs. every 10 or so seconds, the game was freeze for a while and start up again. i found that as i eliminated the computer AIs, the game got smoother, so i'm guessing it might be just the game having to process the AI (even though it's stupid) of every side and each of the units (even though you're not looking at a unit, it still needs to know when to defend itself).
yes thats just a problem with the processing power of your system. My problem even happens at the very start of the game, the scene where the USA are defening the town square and have GLA attacking from all sides. The pauses happen at EXACTLY the same places everytime, and always 12 seconds apart.
It worked a while ago for 3 games and then suddenly was back to this problem again. Haven't had it working fine since.
