Hello all, xodience here (modder, webdesigner/scripter and game programmer) i have been playing generals since it was released now. I found usa to be the strongest but theres one problem been annoying me from the beggining i think it may be a game bug.
It says the Stealth bomber cannot be seen by base defences (sam, gattling, patriot and like the portable gattling gun for gla etc etc) but whenever i send it over (not to attack just to fly over) it always gets shot down. i know if you tell it to attack it doesnt go stealth but i havent been telling it to go stealth.
what is the point of the aurora ok its powerful and supposed to be fast but its not so fast so that it doesnt get hit by missiles yet its supposed to be... can anyone help me?
The Stealth Fighter is just like any other Stealth unit (Hero Units, Pathfinders, Upgraded Rebels). Their are certain triggers for disabling Stealth mode. These can be MOVING, FIRING, USING ABILITY to name a few.
Also several units and structures have a Stealth Detection ability. Strategy Centre, Patriot Batteries, Gattling Cannons, Stinger Sites, Troopcrawlers, Spy Drones, Pathfinders, Heroes, Radar Vans etc. will all remove Stealth.
So your problem is this:
If you fly a Stealth Fighter over an enemy base it will be revealed. The AI orders all enemy units to attack any revealed stealth units so your Stealth Fighter is invariably smoked!! :cya:
Stealth Jet Missiles are designed to counter base defences and it can normally unleash it's payload before being revealed and shot down. If you get a good hit the structure you are attacking will be destroyed and your Stealth Fighter can R.T.B.!
GLA Quad Cannons and Chinese Gattling Tanks DO NOT detect Stealth but your Fighter will still be revealed when it fires.
As for Aurora Bombers. They are powerful and they are fast and I've yet to see one shot down before dropping it's bomb. If you have then you've been lucky (or unlucky depending on what side you are).
This thread details a lot of information about Aurora Bombers and how to counter them. It may help you to improve your strategy for their use.
Hope this helps.
Thanks... ive came up with a strategy for stealth bombers now too... the enemy always puts theyre sam/patriot/gattlinggun at the front of base so if i fly diagonal then fly in from side it doesnt have to pass the sam sites. as for the aurora maybe its just luck or maybe depends how many sam sites there is, thank you im sure ill have more probs :fistpunch:
well they aurora has to be told to attacvk something before it goes that speed at which u cant shoot it down

Not strictly true.
This may be the case in Skirmish mode against the computer and against noobs n idiots online, but any player with a bit of experience will scatter Anti Air in a position to defend most areas of their base and also essential structures.
Just hit power stations and BAM!! all defences go off line. Then send in the jets.
I play as China so this will only apply in part to you, but I try to use Artillery Barrage on power stations and EMP on defence systems before a major airstrike.
As USA try co-ordinating Auroras, Stealths, Raptors, A-10s and the odd B-52 Fuel Air Bomb in an overwhelming airstrike!!
The GLA are the side best equipped to defend against airstrikes as they do not use power stations. Try using Pathfinders on Stinger Sites to take out the guys manning the site.
thank you i never fought about that:moon: :naughty:
you can just have your Jarmen sniper to sit in front or your camod rebels to protect the defense.

Yes you can. but don't you think it is a bit of a waste to use Jarmen Kell in a defensive role like this when he should be up front mixing it with the enemy and supporting your advance?
If Kell was to go up against Pathfinders he would struggle. Firstly because his stealth is removed for two seconds when he fires and he cannot detect stealth units. Pathfinders can detect stealth units and can sit and keep firing without you seeing them. Secondly, Pathfinders have a longer range than Jarmen Kell and so will usually get the first shot off.
Rebels on the other hand? Well, same results apply. They would not be much use protecting against a Pathfinder attack.
Pathfinders are anti-infantry units. Rebels are just a bit cack really.....
Pathfinders are very good because the USA makes them! lol

You know what buddy, you could try posting something which people can actually respond to rather than these stoopid one liners I see littered ALL OVER the forum.
Don't get me wrong, I respect free speech n all, it's just that when I get an email telling me someone has replied I kinda hope it will be interesting reading someone elses opinion.
Something like that is a waste of time.
Sorry if I sound harsh. Don't think I'm having a go at just you. There are other who do the same. It's just that you seem to have posted a lame reply to EVERY thread I'm subscribed to.
Please take this as constructive criticism. I am intersted in what you have (and everybody else has) to say, you just ain't sayin very much...
