I just bought a new motherboard and processor. I have 2 questions for any of you out there! 1. 1.8ghz AMD Athlon Processor with a Nvidia GeForce2 64MB Video Card, still getting the sound to work, 192MB RAM,keyboard, laser mouse, and 4gb hard drive. I am saving up to buy Generals(already saved 32$!) and wanted to know if my system will run Generals withought much choppiness. 2. Also, I know the RAM is low, so when I buy Generals(if i do) I am gonna get more RAM. I have installed now a 128MB RAM card and 64MB RAM card. Should I get a other 128MB of RAM and take the 64MB of RAM out or what? Thank you

P.S.-Remember to please answer both questions!

you have a nice processor, good ram and a small but it will do hd, you could add more ram but i wouldnt. stick with the 128 meg video card. it should run it good on the low or medium settings.

as much ram as possible

I have a p3 850 with a geforce2 64mb but I have 512 ram, and on a lower quality it runs fine.

if I were u I'd get two 256 sticks of ram.

Hi oobotsy1,

you're obviously on a tight budget so:

1. The game will run with your current specs. You will have to play a bit with the video settings, but the bottom line: it will run.

2. For the ram: more ram is always good. Check also what kind of ram you have (DDR or SD, 333mhz/S66mhz, Cas latency,...). The best thing to do is to open up your pc, check how many slots are available for your RAM and while you're at it: check the specs on the RAM (you could also check this in the BIOS). If you have an open slot, just get a stick of 64/128/256 RAM and plug it in...but make sure it is the same RAM (don't go combining DDR with SD or something like that).

One more thing: I do think the HD is really small. I think you could just fit in an OS, 3 games and some mp3's before you get problems with the virtual memory. It's always a good thing to spare about 10 % of your HD, so it can be used as virtual memory...

no, not with a 1.8 gigahertz processor it won't run slow. Thats the recommended processor speed, not the minimumal requirement.

Don't bump or double post on ur own threads.

Take it easy there oobootsy1, there are some of us here that do NOT live in America believe it or not ... I post mainly while I'm at work, in the evening/night I play and donate free quality time :D.

Back on topc: quit your whining and buy the game already, IT WILL RUN!!!!!

although there are people like me who unfortionatly don't have an AGP slot so we're limited to PCI cards, which like nobody makes anymore.
