Hey everybody! i've tried this ALT - key function that allows you to order units to do a certain thing after that they have done somthing(what's it called again?). I don't know if i'm doing something wrong (which i think that i problaby am) but this function doesn't help me at all. Infact, it makes the whole thing much harder. I mean, i ordered 4 aurora bomber to destroy a nuclear missilo and after that to fly home safe using a another way than the auroras would choose. When i saw that they flew towards the nuclear missile and only flew past it i got really mad because it cost me 4 auroras and a hell in my base. Am i doing something wrong? I want to order a unit to attack something and after that to go to a certain point. How should i do? Does someone know?

the ALT keys enables you to set waypoints for your units, it doesn't, as far as i am aware allow you to set waypoints after targetting a building. surely, due to the speed of the Auroras, it is easy to have them attack and then as soon as they drop their bombs direct them to move elsewhere rather than returning to base.

I never really noticed myself. But i don't think there is a way you can order the aurora's to attack and THEN set waypoints how to 'escape' a deathtrap of quads, defence turrets ect??? These aurora's are so incredebly fast it will be difficult to move them out of dangen once attacked (to much micromanagment for most)

I myself have not much use for waypoints, exept for demo bikes or something like that. 1. click a units 2. hold the ALT button 3. left click on a few points on the map 4. the unit will follow the scelected points

quite simple.

hotkeys. group them 1 2 3 4 5 6... etc etc

gives you great control.

i know that, but the thing is that if i do as you say the auroras just fly over to the selected place and after that they fly home to base  Is it possible to make them attack something or am i'm doing as i'm supposed to?? The game would be so much better if functions like these would be little more extended. The formation button for example would rock :stallard: if it had some official formation built in. I guess that we'll just have to satisfy ourselves with this great game which ownes all game BTW.:)

True. This WOULD improve the gameplay, at least for usa(and china) planes :p . GLA whouldn't in my oppinion have much use for them.

Formations? Hmm not sure how this would improve the game, most attacks by land have to attack though small spaces (ramps) and they would pack up anyway :)

yeah, i know but wouldn't it be very nice i you could do like the airforce generals does in challange mode when he flies over your base with an formation of king raptors :stallard: that would be so very nice ....

yup i agree on that that would be really cool. Although that would make them easyer to take down (for example the flying rocket in the air hitting a aurora flying behind one 'bug').

But yea it would be nice. you could try first guarding a group of planes in the air and then CTRL+F on them (formation). that might work.
