I'm trying to do some very basic modeling for the attack anim on my Patryn unit (still working on the Death Gate mod...hopefully I'll finish before too long) and I'm having problems finding the brg importing files online. Are they necissary? And if they are, where can I get a link? Thanx

I can email you the BRG MAXScripts which you should put in ...GMAX/Scripts. Once you've imported a 3ds, run import_gmax.ms to apply textures to it and turn it from a mesh to a normal unit. sometimes teh textures aren't fully applied, and it wont look complete, but it is.

If you get it to work, Tsen, post here and tell us your steps, cause I tried to model, and used those scripts, but couldn't get it to work.

i can model sort of well now, since i've cleared up a few things with Kastor the last time he signed on (for only two minutes tho lol) what error message are you getting? make sure that... -when you finish you only have one shape (if you have more then one, then convert them all to editable mesh then in the right menu pane click attach list then select all) and that shape is named Animated -that you have NO CYLINDERS in your entire model. -that it has the ORIGINAL, MULTI-MATERIAL texture of the imported BRG dont try to edit a non-BRG'd 3ds lol! if i missed something and you've done all that crap --^ then tell me the error message... or tell Kastor if he goes on again lol

Thanks for the scripts, sorry it took me so long to reply. My internet bugs out all the time, so I'm using my friend's computer at the moment. I'm now able to view the animations on the units, but I was wondering if it's possible to edit the texture while it's in gmax so I don't have to edit the texture in Photoshop and run AoM to sample it. Other than that it's working well, though I might have to load the gmax tutorial off of the site to get used to some of the more in depth features of the program.

nope you can't edit the texture in GMAX. you can UVW unwrap it ('move' the texture around) but you can't edit it, gota do the whole texture conversion process thing
