Does anyone else agree that ninja's totally kick ass? That is besides the point of this topic. I want to make a TC for UT2004 that plays kind of like Splinter Cell. Seeing as how SC uses the Unreal engine, that shouldn't be too hard to get the visuals down. Anyway, I want to make a stealth-action based TC that uses ninja, kinda Tenchu-style. I know that I might not be the first person to come up with this idea...but I still like it. MP might be a problem...but then again not every game needs a multiplayer mode if the SP mode is good enough.

The thing is, this mod will never get made if I don't have any help...and nobody will want to help me, since I can't map, model, or code. What happened to the importance of game designeres!? If anyone doesn't care about that...let me know if you want to help.

There are no game designers in the business today who can't code, make maps or at least have some kind of developing skill besides imagination. Funnily enough, the business needs imagination far more than the other skills (except perhaps mapping). The people in charge just haven't realised it yet... Anyway, point is, if you want someone to help you develop your idea, you need to be able to produce at least a small something yourself: a little map or a model or skin to convey your idea, to prove you're for real and that this isn't just a passing whim (there's a new mod or game idea drifting around every day, but very few are thought up by people who have the commitment to see it through).

I understand. I'm gonna go to school for game design...learn basic programming, basic modeling, and level editing. I bought the Mastering Unreal Technology: The Art of Level Design, so maybe that will help me out some. But still...I need help with this mod. I am a dedicated person when it comes to doing video games...but no one even cares about that. Oh, well...I guess it was a good idea while it lasted...

Well, when you've learnt one of those skills you could produce a mini-mod, or map or model/skin, I'm sure you'd be able to find help then.

On second thought...all I want to do for this is come up with the idea. It's not like I want to be the team leader or anything. I just want to see a team make this...'cause I think that UT2004 needs a stealth/action TC. All I want to do is say, "Okay...this is the story and these are the characters. This is what other people would like to see done. Do your thing." I don't even want total control...I just want a friggin' ninja game for UT2004! But apparently...my word isn't good enough. My action movie-themed mod for HL2 fell through...lack of communication. I'd probably have a better chance at making this when I actually become a game designer.

Actually, I will make a demo-type thingy. Maybe a matinee. But I need props and stuff. I can map, but I can't model or animate worth crap. And does anyone know where I can get a ninja-type model for UT2004...for the matinee? 'Cause I can find sounds and stuff...and building the maps shouldn't prove to be too hard. It's just the models and props and things like that. If anyone wants to help me make a demo for this mod...be my guest and e-mail me or something.
