Heh thats kinda crazy that you've been workin on samurai. I wish I coulda come on the forums sooner so I could learn all this stuff and help ya with it. I'm sure ya don't need help but two minds are better than one =P And its both of our ideas. You prolly thought of it first tho =P

um actually no lol it's already published, and the most updated version is on AoMH, which is very ironic b/c i strongly prefer aomfiles, but aomh, i must say, has a much better publishing system... people upload their files, the staff go over them, and they get published. right now FN's having an email downage tho... and (sorry to brag) but i don't need help on mods :p

Well, helping on an individual mod would be a pain anyways, you'd have to send the texture, model or anim to whoever is doing the rest and they'd have to put it all together again...If you were doing a modpack involving several mods it could help since each person could work on a seperate mod...

Well thats cool then, thats its published. I didn't mean help with an individual unit, I thoughtcha meant more than just a single samurai unit. Figured if you had multiple models to make it'd go faster to use one that I would make. But Imma stupid newbie so I misunderstood =P. N' I said that I realized ya didn't need help on modding; certainly not from me anways. Are ya havin the samurai run around with the likes of normal AoM infantry? They're way too cool to hang out with those guys! And we both thought of the idea independently. Unfortunately my idea is just that. I've been trying to import a model into Gmax but when I run the script it says that "the mesh is not defined". I'm thinkin I have the wrong script. I got the site for it from a tutorial and have followed all of the tutorials directions, but I only get black models when I import them from the file menu. And its a mess of around 5 different models, for each position of its animation, even on the idle ones. Argh, help please!

haha jk i know you had that idea. samurai actually wasn't my idea, i was talking about botm to platinum colossus and he said "why not a samurai" lol :p and for your modeling prob, make a new thread about it or it'll be too off-topic

Well, are you running the import script after you've opened the extracted model? You should be if you weren't before. And some models always appear black in GMax, since they have several textures. Usually only basic upgradeable units are, though. Try opening a myth unit or a hero (priest for example, I know it works) If it's still black than there might be a problem with the script.

This would be cool, and all evidence supports the fact that a whole new civilization could be added to the game. I'd fully support such an effort, either artisticaly or . .. however else I could. But of course, I'm booked 'til summer. Hopefully someone will have cracked the PRT file by then, too, which would be cool for a total conversion on a Civ. Lord Z

Even if we could open up the prt file, we dont know how its coded so theres really no point. For all we know, the aom creators could have made a totally different language for use in the game.
