To create a hallway between two rooms you simply make a cube the size you want the hallway to be (make sure it intersects both rooms walls), and press subtract from world, and it will create the hallway.

Hold control and click to move the Red Builder Brush. I prefer to do it in the top view, but that's just me. Something else, which mouse button you click determines what axis it will move on in the 3D view. This is from memory, so excuse me if it's wrong. Hold left click to move in X, right click to move in Y, and both to move in Z.

Are you asking how to move the red builder brush? I'm not clear on what you are asking.

By the way, I have that book as well.

Also, I don't think you can remove created rooms if they are BSP subtractions. If you are worried about, say, if you are trying to create a hallway and the brush is longer and juts out into another room, don't worry as nothing will happen where a subtraction has already occured.

Unreal Ed works off of subtracting things out of an infinite blob of matter. That is why making a room is called subtraction; when you make a room, you carve it out of the matter. It helps to think of the Unreal Ed world like that when creating levels.

If you want to move a building brush, though, just click on it until it highlights, and then either hold control or shift and then click and hold on it and you can move your brush around.

As far as creating hallways, again, I am not sure what you are asking for. Please try to explain it a bit better if you can and I'll try to help you.
