was just thinking, wouldnt it be kinda cool if there was a mod for ut that was like renegade, so you have buildings which provide functionality and units, and when a main structure is destroyed, then its round over... just an idea seeing as i cant mod at all.

well i do now have some ideas and id love for you ot help mapping if this ever gets underway, i'd also like some help in learnign to map. anyway, i developed the idea a little and decided i'd share some info Setting: It is the year 3482 and humanity has split into destinct factions, controlling the small amout of the galaxy known as the clan zone. it is an area torn apart by the hundreds of battles raging there, and has always been the point in space where humanity has let off steam, but now the factions are getting too big, and rivalrys too old, and they have begun to strike at worlds outside the zone. now it is certain. War will engulf the cosmos once again. Sides: Libertine star alliance: The libertine star alliance is one of the older and larger factions, and is really the remains of the former terran navy. As far as factions go, this faction is neither particularly advanced or powerful, relying on the superior training, and sheer wieght of numbers. Thier vehicles are all relativley small, compact and fast, but lacking in firepower The United Emirate of Indipendant Traders: Otherwise known as the pirates, the UEIT is a vicious and fiercley indipendant faction, with no real leadership. Pirate ships bind together to pilliage a planet of resources. Due to the impermanent nature of thier fleets, there vehicles and structures are often constructed out of what is left lying around, so ofen have varied weaponry, but lack performance and in many cases, armor This is as far as ive got with information atm, expect more soon!

The Brotherhood of Secundus: The Brotherhood of Secundus is one of the few remaining religious cults and little is known about its private teachings and practices except from the fact that it makes its troops fanatically loyal and fearless even in the face of insurmountable enemy numbers (see battles, Keldar XXI) and skill. Thier vehicles are almost impossible to steal, and despite thier small size, pack a huge punch, espesially at long range, where they excel. Thier ground troops have fair armor and speed, but they tend to have a very limited range of avaliable hardware, as thier dictacts prevent a lot of weapons. Most troops in the feild rely on picking up the weapons on the battlefield. Vanguard: The Vanguard hail from the cold world of Semond-Strauss VI, and are in fact, genetic creations of the humans, rather than true aliens. A lot of thier genes were taken from wolves and other canines, and they resemble these, wolves and, as they discovered planets closer to thier star, foxes. They have almost unsurpassed vehicle armor, and it is very difficult to take them out with other vehicles, but due to thier huge size and large amounts of armor, these vehicles can be slow, and often have limited weapons capability. Thier troops are fast and powerfully armed, but tend to lack armor as it slows them down.

Hey, davidcraig 2004, could you help me with something? I have a week-old post presenting an idea for an assault level with "interactive weather." In other words, the players will get randomly struck by lightning and there will be a tornado that I want to put in the level too. Nobody has answered my request to help me with programming these aspects into the level since i know only the basis of Unreal Ed. To put a purpose to this level, the basic storyline is that the attacking team must infiltrate a base (castle like) and cause a weather-control sattelite (I call it the "artificial weather generating sattelite" or AWGS) to self destruct because its creator is using it for terrorism, but the satellite is active at the base and cause a tornadic thunderstorm to occur that the attacking team must deal with (which will be easier than it seems). This is only a synopsis of the storyline. There are a couple of other new things that i want to try too. If you need any more info, you can read my thread "want to make new level: need help," which i do so please help me. Thanks
