Honestly, I'm not sure what is happening, but I can suggest something to temporarily fix the problem. Go to view on the toolbar, find "viewports," and then select "new viewport." This will add a window where you can mess with your level. I also think that there was a way to get the original viewports to show up, but I have forgotten it. It may exist in an older thread around here, so I'll search for it. One note though, I obtained those steps using a UT2004 build of Unreal ED. I'm not sure if your build, which is UT2003 (it says it at the top of the program window), is the same as mine, but I assume it is enough to where you can perform the above trick and get the viewports back. I hope that this helps for now.

Go to View>Viewports>Configure... and select the four-panel one. That's the default. On a side note, I addressed this in my tutorial-in-progress, I just didn't write it fast enough :)

Thanks again Lolowen. You are becoming a big help here. I'll begin on the stickying of the tutorial threads you made or gave help in.

Just adding to the thread... WinXP and UTE2k4: 1)The object are -totally- unselectable; 2)The right-click menu doesn't show up; 3)The browsers don't open either; 4)Modelling attempts cause real bad headache. Or is it just me?confusedx.gif

You can make a seperate thread about this, but it is no big deal. If you're worried, I can split this thread and make a new one out of this problem. Anyway, what are the other specification of your computer? Unreal ED, I think, takes more RAM, video card memory, and processing power to run than the game. Right now, it sounds like the program is lagging very badly on your computer according to your description of the problems.

Errr... No, thanks. No need to. Don't think so. It actually worked on Win98 (crashed oft though), but I had to switch os, so... Here are the specs anyway: 512mb RAM, ATI Radeon 9600Pro (256mb), 3GHz P4, 3,2gb swap file - All the stuff loads and looks fine, I just can't edit it anyhow (no obj selection). Would be really grateful if you could suggest anything.

In my experience, UnrealEd takes between 300 and 350 megs of RAM. So if you're already running a bunch of stuff, that will slow it down big time. I've never heard of these symptoms though. Also, what do you mean by modeling attempts cause a real bad headache?

No, no, I run -only- UTE, but still... I just mean I can't model anything at all. And any attempt to fix things up is a nightmare (kinda dissapointing).

Has this problem persisted since you first tried using Unreal Ed or is this a recent problem that has not occured when you used the program before?
