Hmm. I didn't think that Unreal Tournament's console supported colored names (for all versions). I'll check that out.

It used to, but one of the patches disabled it. I think one of the competitive mods (UTComp?) re-enables it though (serverside only, mind :P). I can't remember how to do colored names now though, sorry. It was too long ago.

I know how to do it on Return to Castle Wolfenstein and all of the games that run that engine (ex: Call of Duty). Was coloring names in UT similar to that?

I'd really have no idea, never played RTCW. I can't even remember how the colors worked, I think it was a code-system similar to Unreal 2 XMP, so it was usually done in user.ini. (if I remember rightly)

:edit: done some digging, and apparently in servers running UTComp (you can usually tell from the scoreboard GUI) if you press F5 you can color your name.

I'll need to experiment with it.

What is the console command for nickname changes in UT though?

You don't need to download it, just join a server that runs it- it should be pretty small. Look for servers with UTComp in their name (it doesn't have its own gametype, it's a mutator [unlike TAM]), there isn't any efficient way of finding a UTComp server as far as I know.
