Runing, P4 2.7 - 512DDR - 128MB 9600 XT so whats with this damn long loading time when I'm joinin a game. Then when I'm in the game it lags (like teleporting everywhere lag kind of thing) for like abotu good 5 mintues.. I'm geting tired of this. I set the game up basically everything on "normal setting", 1024 res with 16bit and even trun'd the shadows instead of full to a damn circle. Help?

If i were you, I would just get another 512 stick, it will make it load smoother, run better, and make it play overall better. If this doesnt work, try thing like defraging or just reinstall the game.

So basically you're saying he should gamble on your opinion, buy another 512 RAM and see if it works?

You know, it could be your internet, what's your connection?

Another 512 may or may not do the trick, but it's not a "gamble," it will improve performance anyway, but i do believe you might wanna clean up ur hard drive, how long has it been since it's last defrag? and it could also be ur connection, maybe ur wiring......ahhh the information age, so prone to problems.....:)

More RAM makes a huge difference in performance, but the thing is how much are you willing to spend for new RAM. It isn't too bad (depending on what you get) and is much cheaper than totally upgrading your computer (processor upgrade, video card, etc.) I've seen that most sluggush problems are fixed when more RAM is placed in the computer. And It doesn't hurt to defrag the drive, or get Regclean from the internet (it is free) and run it, and get some sort of anti-spyware software like Ad-Aware or spybot because adware can slow your computer down and cause a ton of problems as well (but be wary some programs w/ spyware in them from advertisers (usually file-sharing ones and Wild-Tangent) will fail when their spyware is removed).
