So, with all the recent threads on these forums about DoW2 & Soul Storm, I figured I'd jot down a few... opinions... Firstly I'm amazed by how many DoW2 & Soul Storm threads there are, you only actually need one of each, right? Anyway, Soul Storm will be the Dark Eldar (this we know) and the Inquisition. When I say 'The Inquisition' I don't mean an individual cast, as within the Inquisition, we have the Imperial Guard, Space Marines, Witch Hunters and Daemon Hunters. They're all 'The Inquisition', to a point anyway. When I say 'The Inquisition' I mean the Daemon Hunters and / or Witch Hunters. They're best bet is to combine the two, giving the 'whole side' a better unit structure. No doubt they'll include some Guards in there too (we know they have specialised Guard units). THQ / Relic have said on many occasions that they simply can't do Tyranids with this engine. There is then two possibilities to this. Either they can't do them, or they can do them, they're just joking / lying about it, so that when they do get released, there will be a bigger hype about it. - This isn't the first time this would have happened, I remember other instances where a game company have said they 'can't do something' then they've done it. Guard need more units. I read somewhere, somone saying the Catachan may be a new race? - Well no, chances are, they'd just be made another Imperial Guard squad, same with Steel Legion. The Daemon Hunters need to be removed from the Space Marines, and put in a Deamon Hunter / Witch Hunter team (if Tyranids aren't done). Space Marines need a Devistator Squad, and Bikes. We know they can both be done. Space Marines can have men with las-canons, heavy flamers, plasma guns and rocket launchers, they could maybe remove the rocket launcher from the standard marine squad. Maybe a squad of 5 men, 6 if you include a Sergent = Devastator Squad. I can't really think much about the other races, other than adding in new units. I do however have an 'idea' for Chaos - probably one that they'll never implement. There are four Chaos Gods. Khorne, Slannesh, Nurgle & Tzeentch. Anyway, when playing Chaos, they need a tech tree setup (like they've done with the Monk'ta & Kaygon command post on the Tau) that, you 'select' which Chaos God you wish to worship. Upon making your selection (could be a button on your HQ or Armory or something) you get a specialised squad. If you choose Nurgle, you get Plague Marines, if you choose Khorne, you get Khorne Berserker's, if you choose Slannesh you get a squad of Thousand Sons etc etc... Then you get 'The Gods' like the Bloodthirster etc, he would only be an option of you choose Khorne. Anyway, thats my two cents on the matter...

you make excelent points although i thought the new race was more of a flying type. yes the guard could use more units like a variety of units not just spammed guardsmen. like a guardmen squad for range steel legion for anti tanks, catchan for mellee and hit and run range attacks. yes they do need bikes i mean theres a pic in the manual for good heavens and a devastator squad must be put in i mean whats the point of marines if they dont have heavy heavy weapons. the inquisition squad would be cool too. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE CHAOS GOD IDEA, i said that too but a guy didnt understand me so he thought i meant like all gods at once but you explain in detail. all in all this is a very good thread.

I like the chaos god idea, but that would make chaos so versatile it'd be sick, also thousand sons belong to tzeentch, noise marines are slannesh devotees.

It's a bit of a disappointment for companies to create expansions with races that already exist in succesful mods :( .eg Daemon Hunters

yeh like the way you guys think i also think guardsmen need flamers like TT and conscripts or rattling squads

What of the chaos Undivided Banner then!? I remember those guys having the advantage of having all the perks of the chaos gods.

Well, I agree with you guys about the chaos gods ideea and I think the other races should get more units form tt.

For example: - chaos should get chaos landraider and havoc marines. - eldar wave serpents, bikes and dire avengers - SM devastators, veteran marines and venerable dreadnought + all types of landspeeder and vindicator tank - IG all types of leman russ, melta guns or rocket launchers 4 the GM and Kasirkins to better hold enemy armor - Tau 12 men strong firewarrior team, 3 unit strong Crisis team with the possibility of getting plasma rifle and shield drone upgrades, rail rifles 4 the pathfinders and phiranas - Orks dreadnought and gun waggon - Necrons are prety strong as they are now so no new units 4 them

could I ask you about your sources about the inquisition?

I remember it was a logical conclusion, that the second race would be the sisters probably but nothing concrete yet.

Chaos landraider :confused::eek::confused: then the Chaos would be pretty overpowered for they already have the BT. plus they would be to much like the Space marines.
