Thanks for taking a look. What mouse or keyboard actions are necessary to get the Snipers to shoot without revealing themselves? I am just learning DoW, and am in the Campaign mode against the computer. This is the scenario in which you take some scouts across the map. You are soon joined by what the voice-over announces are "sniper" units. Well, the manual is USELESS, it has ZERO information on how to make the game work. (What genius designs PC game manuals anyway? They almost all stink) So, I use logic. Snipers fire from concealment, right? Not these snipers. No matter what I do, when they shoot, the Orks go nuts and attack them. What mouse or keyboard actions are necessary to get the Snipers to shoot without revealing themselves?
In Winter Assault and the Origional game scouts or anything infiltrating can't shoot without revealing themselves.
Man, I hated the campaign from the first game. The WA campaign was better, but still not up to snuff. The DC campaign was much better than the one before but there is still LOTS of room for them to work with. Anyways to get to the point, there is no way to have your snipers stay infiltraited while they shoot in the first game of WA. Only snipers in DC stay infiltraited.
the frist camgin was the best one i don't know what your talking about
I think I have this figured out. You have to cloak the regular scouts, and edge them SLOWLY to where they push the fog of war away from the target. Then edge the uncloaked Snipers just barely behind the cloaked scouts. The snipers will target enemies on their own. Yeah, the enemies will eventually get a clue and charge. At that point, you uncloak the regular scouts, and put them directly into hand to hand combat. Retreat the snipers quickly so they don't get tied up in this, they will then turn and start shooting into the crowd, usually saving the scouts pretty quickly.

Raccane in Original DOW sinpers canot shoot but they can aim for the target then U uncloc them then they shoot the Target they have put aim on.
If the orks attack your snipers, even if they are uncloaked you are doing something wrong. Plus, even if they do attack you, you can run away and they will stop following you after awhile.
we have some serious n00bs joining the forums recently, you obviously didn't listen to what was said in teh campaign that they cna't do both, they can only do both in Dark Crusade, in others they just stand there until you command tem to attack and they reveal themselves, don't blame the manual for what is your own n00biness
I always thought the fact that they all de-infiltrated with sniper rifles a bit strange, surely the point of a sniper rifle is that nobody knows where the bullet came from, so the scouts remain infiltrated. But in DC, they overdid it, i bet everybody could see a Space Marine scout that just walked up to them and started shooting them with a plasma gun, infiltrated or not. I think the infiltration should be extended to just one-shot weapons, guns like bolters and flamers give away your position too easily.

Nobody said they stayed cloaked while shooting in DOW vanilla... so not sure what you are talking about... What i did on that mission was hit and run, i don't think the orks reinforced.
