Before Ranting out YES!! OMGX0RZ TIS T3H SHIZ hear me out... I have heard amazingly differing opinions about Winter Assault, when I first read through a MiniMod upload that you can now only have ONE Land Raider, that Chaos lost ALL of their Special weapons this broke the camel's back - that was already weak because of the 1.4 removal of the ability to change the Space Marine's eye color. So is it true that all other races are nerfed like the Terrans in PlanetSide (don't ask, it means a <> like an obscene ammount) except for the Imperial Guard, obviously meaning that Relic was like "OMG T3H IG R TH3 PWNZ!" (:0wned: ) And raped the other races with a concrete post in the bum... OR Is it just a total rebalance of the game - with races, and units taking on very very different roles? Are they balanced across the board in every aspect? And how much has the "rebalance" affected gameplay. I hear from ALOT of people that the "Rebalance" is totally fair but the ones I hear this from are rushers, they're ALL rushers, which us strategists see as the CounterStrike players of the RTS realm - the "noobs" if you will. So is the game now rush-friendly (IER?) It already could be rushed esp. as the Eldar... I would like to know how removing all special weapons from the Chaos is balanced in any way shape or form... And MOST important of all......Can you now change Space Marine eye color again in Winter Assault?? Thank you for reading all this and please take time to post a mature, thoughtful and honest answer. Cheers
Yeah If You Live In England In Walsall go to walsall to ANY games shop or PcWORLD
Did you even read that?! I am asking if it's a good idea not where to buy it...
The sides are still extremely balanced [IMO], the Choas have had there rocket launcher special weapon removed, heavy bolter and flamer are still there. I'm not sure if you can change the eye color of space marines, I don't see how this is a big problem though :/. It is easier to be rushed if you are IG, due to not getting your advanced infantry till tier 3, your basically stuck with guardsmen and command squad until you get your tier 2 going, which can take a while if you are under assault. However this is balanced out with the IGs ace vechiles. The hellhound is an excellent anti- infantry and anti - building vehicle. And the new campaign is good aswell, so I advise you to buy it.
And the Land Raider? Why is its cap reduced to one? That makes no sense to me at all.....why would you make it so only one Land Raider can be built? Could someone check the eyecolor thing on Space Marines please?
The eyecolors for Space Marines are still fixed, sadly.
Fixed? Meaning they don't work...or they do work? o.o I am lost. How is making them not-changeable FIXING them? Furthermore what is the point in removing all Anti Vehicle capability from the Chaos...which seems exactly what they did taking out Missiles, Plasma and the LasCannons on Predators? I can understand doing that on the Eldar who got a new AV unit but all the Chaos got was a 'Hulk Smash' unit right? So why remove their AV? And for God's sake WHY ONE LAND RAIDER ONLY?!
No, I meen FIXED - a fixed color, that can't be changed. Red.
Damnit I like color coordinating it was like the tabletop, my other questions above still stand (why do you figure they did that to the color?)
I guess they decided the color of the arrow symbol on the right shoulder pad was more important. Doesn't make sense to me, either.
Furthermore what is the point in removing all Anti Vehicle capability from the Chaos...which seems exactly what they did taking out Missiles, Plasma and the LasCannons on Predators?
Horrors are more damaging to vehicles now, or so I hear (haven't played enough to give a detailed analysis). I think the developers wanted to put the focus on Daemons and melee units rather than firepower. Distances them from the loyalist Space Marines more.
And for God's sake WHY ONE LAND RAIDER ONLY?!
I guess because it's the SM super unit, and theoretically can turn the tide of a battle on its own...but it seems a mistake to me, as well...it wasn't ever really dangerous enough to justify the limitation.
