super unit my ass....it takes a lot of damage but doesn't deal TOO much more than an outfitted Predator. Are there any other changes made to other units that would be a nasty suprise?

I've mostly been playing Imperial Guard so far, so I'm not the best person to give you a list of alterations...there are lots of tweaks to the HP/damage ratings of various units but I can't think of any other changes as significant as those you just mentioned.

I think it is worth buying if you can get it cheaper. They added some stuff but not $30 worth. They are assess that way and if you have an old video card you'll prob not be able to play it. It gives you 2 very short scenerios, and only 1 new race. It is unbalanced a little now, but wait for the 1.5 patch. I give it a 6 of 10 and the original a 9.5 of 10. This really was a waste of time almost. The steel legion mod is just as good and they added eldar jet bikes and it is free!

I seriously think that if your worried about pathetic little changes like the ones your mentioning, this expansion isnt for you. It's got new units, it's been rebalanced, there are probably some issues. I mean for christ sake, its the eye color of a space marine, it takes up 2 frigging pixels for christs sake. If you want a new campaign and army, buy it. Simple as.

The eye color is more of an aesthetic issue than anything that and a gag - beyond that I am actually worried about the inability of the Races to balance one-another. If the chaos are as ubernerfed as I keep hearing than this isn't good. My primary issue at this juncture is the implimentation of a LandRaider limit, one LR, though powerful is by no means a war-winner like Khaine or Orbital Strike are. If this is rectified It is likley I will procure Winter Assault. Scythan

I don't see how it matters, have you thought that maybe they've beefed up the Land Raider significantly. The Land Raider should be like the IG Baneblade, which is a mega tank.

I've been getting a lot of misinformation it seems, the Chaos can NOT build Flamers...the Raptors CAN have special weapons and the defiler does not suck! It's just different, more of an artillary unit it seems. Look one question I want this answered please - Is the Land Raider Buffed very heavily making it necessary to reduce the number you can have to 1??

Land Raider have 10 000 hp now and still have their Machine spirit thingy, iirc they don't cost 5 vec cap anymore but something like 3 or 4. Alone it's worthless, but supporting a marine army it gets very interesting. Other changes for marines i've noticed so far: they now have 5 special weapons/squad, although they only have access to flamers at tier 2, predators are now built directly with 3x las cannons, termi squads have been reduced to a pop cost of 3 (instead of 4) and each costs 55 req instead of 85. Also, servitors don't count in the pop cap anymore which means you can have more squads. Last thing that comes to my mind, Whirlwinds are available later but they're quite hard to bring down, this make em more valuable.

Concerning the balance, i've seen my Guards own and get owned, they're damn efficient in numbers and their larger vehicles (which take some time till they're available) like the Leman Russ or the Baneblade kick ass. As long as those are missing, they have a hard time getting rid of ennemy vehicles, even with the support of (fragile) Sentinels.

Concerning Chaos, the normal squads have a reduced amount of heavy weapons, possessed need a relic now, i found horrors quite ok against tanks, the predators only have autocannon + HBs now, but their daemonic projectiles are quite efficient against infantry and buildings. Khorne berzerks are good CC units, they're fanatics and their morale can't be broken: they fight to die (and seem to be dissapointed if they survive :p ). I didn't check them out further.

Eldars now have a good AT infantry, these guys are excellent against tanks and buildings.

Basically, all armored vehicles have gone tougher, Ork loota tanks are a pain in the... you know where, aswell as Eldar fire prisms...
