According to me, I'd like to see a future DoW with civilians running for their life and maps affected by combats, craters, houses exploding under shells and woods ablaze from laser fire... The true meaning of war... collateral damages... Hell of a machine to manage all the Fx...
I think that's why RTSs' don't have thoes kind of effects, too much time and effort on their part and over load on most computers. Or they never thought of this kind of FX before, and maybe the tech to do so hasn't been invented yet.
what about black for the ps2. the whole world is destructible
GoogleMoogleMaximuswhat about black for the ps2. the whole world is destructible
it was desturctible to a point. any way I think he means building leveling FX where a Artillary shot would bring down a building and it would fall on the enemy and kill them with rubble, also craters that would stay for the whole game.
black for ps2 was the best graphics from a ps2 game ive seen in a long while @ topic it would be to big and you would have to have one hell of a comp to run it
An old RTS game i had called Total Annihilation had this to degree, forestry would catch on fire when artillery/ lasers hit it, this started a forest fire that would damage nearby units, so i'm sure a similar thing could be done It would be a nice addition to see your battles truely destroying the field, but i doubt it would be considered till the distant dream that is DOW2
So like a COMLPETE phyisics engine?
have you played company of heroes? i think thats what your looking for, it may be a WW2 game, but its pretty cool, there are craters, and destroyed buildings. Go to the page, download the demo and give it a try
The true meaning of a city fight in my veiw like 1 Heavy bolter can keep down a platoon of men or forcing Men to fall back because artilly shells bombarding Houses and when the building falls it stays there and Flame throwers that burnt everything possible.

My point exactly. Anyway, in "Warcraft" you may destroy forests with artillery-like units... In Final Liberation you could destroy buildings... But I think you're right, the DoW serie must stay easy to access with a regular PC...
