If you're disappointed with this game I suggest you go play SC and spam there. DoW II is taking big steps and bringing something new to the dull RTS market. No bases, cover, terrain, commanders, wargear, etc. It's great, I love it just like I loved DoW and I'll continue to support Relic so they can develop a DoW III.

ler me clarify one one thing, warhammer 40k is about both large battles and multiple small battles, the small battles are alot more common than large battles, i read many of the boks and there usually about either 1 of 2 things, 1.theres a major battle going on and a small group go off and fight multiple small key battles to ensure that the main force wins, usually the small force either wins the war on their own anyways, or they do some major damage, 2.there an elite group or handfull of groups that go about scouting, securing objectives, destroying key targets, and obtaining valuables of a sort.

warhammers small battles are just as important or more so than large scale battles. and on tt, large battles are more played with epic warhammer or using the new apocalypse rules since most boards are usually small.

The emphasis on small unit warfare could work out pretty good. I'm just shaking my head at the completely incomprehensible selection of races available. They decided to have tyranids, but left out their natural enemy, the imperial guard. WHAT THE HELL? And there are space marines in the game, but once again, their natural enemy isn't there, the chaos space marines. And why have orks and tyranids in the same vanilla version? I know I'm going to anger a lot of tyranid/ork players by saying this, but you really don't need two horde armies in the same game.

Uh, aren't the Tyranids pretty much the enemy of everything? Don't SM fight whatever enemy is a threat to the Imperium?

IG aren't exactly out, they're just in the same cameo capacity as vanilla DoW.

Yes, but when it boils down to defeating a hive fleet, it's going to be the imperial guard/navy. It's all about the epic battle between the human soldier and the monsterous things from hell.

Don't SM fight whatever enemy is a threat to the Imperium?

And what are a few hundred space marines going to do against a million gaunts? Die. Again, it's all about the massive showdown.

IG aren't exactly out, they're just in the same cameo capacity as vanilla DoW.

Which in my opinion, was dumb to begin with. The IG are the VAST majority of the Imperium's forces, so being represented by a few crappy cameo units is pretty misleading.

Orks aren't a mob army anymore. (Like they ever were in DoW to begin with, 100 pop cap? Gtfo) And neither are Nids, unless you get some idiot who spams Gaunts and Rippers.

^Not as far as I know. But we can quite safely assume that the next expansion will either have chaos or IG.

I'd Orks mob extremely well now with the waagh ability. Just don't ever mob them against tyranids or you'll get murdered by spore mines.
