So I have recently spend $2k on a new computer so I can play the latest games. And as DoW was 1 I played alot back in the day, I thought I'd have a go at DoW 2 now that I can... Install was basically bull shit... install Steam, update steam, make a fucking steam account (I have never had steam or any wish to use it). Install DoW 2, Wait for an hour as steam updates it... what??? why?? I just want to play the bloody single player game... not DL 300Mbs of data on a prepaid wireless account.

Awesome there goes 1/4 of my data... and awesome x 2, I cant DL the patch anywhere else like my m8's comp who has unlimited DL's cos of (wait for it) FUCKING steam, what the hell THQ???

now i'm typing this after 20 min of play so It might be premature, but WTF with the scrolling? in DoW it was nice and smooth and moving your view around would slow to a stop but DoW 2 it's like driving a car with no suspension you push your mouse to the side an it jumps over hard, often going to far and stopping instantly, it really offsets how nice the game looks and so far that is all it has going for it... I see there is no skirmish mode... disappointing, and with that no army painter... sigh.

I think THQ have focused on it's looks and hard core game strategy and neglected the fun stuff... not all of us (probably very few) want to be pro gamers on a mid lvl interest game (this is not WoW or CSS)... I might think of it different after a few months of playing it but atm it's an Epic Fail in my mind.

So you'd rather have a buggy game, not have Free DLC thats included with the patches.

Well You didn't look hard enough there all under Multilayer. This Rant looks you copied and pasted off of the DOW 2 website.

The only Epic fail I see here is you sir.

Uhm to be honest I consider the level of entry for dow 2 to be vastly lower than dow 1 which was a far more complex game.

As to the scrolling - sure you're computer is completely up to specs? I personally never noticed any scrolling issues.

To the last point - that's just how steam works.

To enter the army painter and skirmish modes you have to go to MP games. Private game then is skirmish
