Oh boy, oh boy..... I know that everyone is waiting for a train map, and since mountain only need some tweaking, I picked up a project that was laying on the shelf for a year or two (yep, even before Boulderdash). Huey has done a superb job by modeling a choo choo for the map and credits for displaying these screen shots and maybe have an early christmas present called 'El Drab Train Hijack' have to go to him and to hummer (yep, again Hummer) for starting the original map. Anyway, the map is still in embrionic stage (alpha sub-zero) but here are some screens for you to drewl on.
Looks cool. I want to play with the choo choo's.:)
Do I see the wanted picture I did of Hewster on one of the carriages. COOL
looks cool paolo! will you be releasing a test version of this map, or will it go directly into rotation?
the screenies look awesome!
Wow! Thats looking great Paolo! Can't wait for that Christmas gift. :)
Thanks for the enthousiasm sofar... Ok, some background story on the map: Those darn bandits have stolen the train which was loaded with four cannons and the stagecoach holding the wages for the soldiers. Now the El Drab posse has jumped on the second train and started the persuit. The posse has caught up with the bandits and now have 10 minutes to stop the train before the tracks will seperate and the bandits will dissapear across the border. There are two ways to create a bridge between the two trains, blow up the roof of the double decker car to create a bridge, or a well placed dynomite under the stack of loose lumber on top of one of the box cars. Then there are 4 brake levers to be pulled to stop the train, once a brake lever has been pulled it cannot be reversed anymore ;) As soon as all 4 levers are pulled within the time frame the posse has succeeded their mission. Be aware though!!! Don't fall of the train, you won't survive!!
just a few questions paolo
will there be more then one route up through the train? ie: along the roof, shimmy along a rail or bar outside the train cars... do the brakes have to be pulled in a specific order? can't wait for this one to be released!!!
Hfx_Rebelwill there be more then one route up through the train? ie: along the roof, shimmy along a rail or bar outside the train cars...
Actually there are two ways across to the Bandits' train one over the blown roof and the other over the wood stack.
do the brakes have to be pulled in a specific order?
Nope, as you will, but all have to be pulled.
[quote2=Paolo]Actually there are two ways across to the Bandits' train one over the blown roof and the other over the wood stack.[/quote2] but, once you're on the bandit's train, you have to go through some cars right? (i'm guessing you work from the end of the train to the engine?) will there be more then one way to the objectives?
sounds interesting. I've just one question though. Are the trains truely or aparently moving? (i.e. first case they are both moving about the map, second they are stationary and the terain apears to be moving past you) I can tell you from playing around with gringo starr on his train map you get some strange physics in the first case. I must say I'm intregued, and ready for the alpha & beta tests.
