- just a idea that floated into my head - i mean am sleepy as all hell and havent slept yet and its like 1:00PM now here lol
but here goes
map name could be like Bounty Hunt or Outlaws
either way story plays out like this
A bandit outlaw is wanted by the Cowboys
so the cowboys fight through the map to get to where the outlaw is and Kill him basically the Cowboys are Bounty Hunters looking for this one Bad Ass Bandit in town
and im thinking of a map like El Drab but not exactly its gotta be changed a bit but good base map for it all
maybe call it pueblo (which means town) or Pueblo de bandidos (Bandits Town)
this isnt to hard to map actually Basically its Hacienda but with a Bandit instead of the Gov to kill
Cowboys gotta get to the bandit and shoot him - cuz there is a Bounty on his head Dead or Alive etc..
i mean it seems like a good idea - but then again im half asleep right now so lol it might be totally horrible
probably if i took time to do i could map this - but my machine is way to shitty to map on - thats why i stopped mapping after i released one map LOL
what u guys thinking of it all jw
Good idea Kane...........but...................yeah the but, I came with great ideas as well when I started to play WW, there is only one big down side to having great ideas, ideas don't make a map. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea very much. Now my great (ahum) ideas have been driving me to start learn how to map myself, as most mappers are either busy or flooding with great ideas themselves. Sofar in my short period of attempting to map (2 year) I build one map from scratch and tried to port 2 from RTCW, and I have to pad myself on the shoulder here, I aint doing too bad for someone who has never ever worked with a paint program and a 3D mapping tool, the only 3D I knew were those red/green goggles (yeah I'm old). As I found out, and Ringo as well, if you have great ideas, share them, but start mapping as well. From my side of this little planet, good luck!!
lol i havent whipped out my mapping tools in a long time -- and this computer i have now is way to slow and crappy to map on -- id like to take El Drab Town and chagne it up a bit put like grafitti on the sign and the story is that Bandits took it over or something like that lol
who knows i might whip my tools out
I have a lot of time and many ideas too, but i do not know any software, i can build a map with... Can anybody help me? Send me a tool, or some links...or hints... I'll develop the best map the Wild West had ever seen...:D  Or better ---> I ll try it... *g* I would take a famous western movie try to build the town and copy the story a little... and if it should work fine, I will make a "Dr. Quinn map" .... hahaha Should anybody wanna help...i send him my email via PM! Do I really need such a good PC??? I have 1,4 Mhz 512 MB Ram
unter, first snoop around the mapping forum and the stickies (that will give you some general idea of what your getting into.)
Also I think anyone who's done mapping will also agree....
Start with something extremely simple, play around with it and learn how to do various things, then try a real map. Even something as simple as a basic room can get tricky.
I had a great idea a couple years back, but I have no mapping skills. It was an old abandoned train station that the Bandits are using for something...I can't remember. Anyways, would be cool to do that, have some semi thick fog lingering around, a spooky sound effect like an old train whistle very lightly so it sounds like a haunted train, etc...
@ Unterguru: You can get GTK Radiant here: http://www.qeradiant.com/
OK...thanks...I will download it and take a lot of time to check it out! :smokin:
UnterguruDo I really need such a good PC??? I have 1,4 Mhz
wow - my first comp in 1989 got about 7 MHZ - when did you bought your's? :)
"Korintenkacker" we say in Germany... 1,4 Mhz x 10 x 10 x 10 was what I wanted to write I forgot the "x 10's" :smokin:
Sorry for the nooobest noob question ever: I m running some tutorials in GtkRadiant at the moment...
And in my GtkRadiant 1.5.0 there is no z - axis window...so i cant create rooms...only surfaces! The solution must so simple that i cannot find anything on the www!
i tried every point under VIEW... but there is no f***** z-axis window appearing!
and bubba says: there should be one...even in the manual is nothing to find about it!!!
it must be so simple.
Thanks 4 your help!
