I might have told you that I recently bought a ABIT KT7A mobo and a AMD Athlon / T-Bird 1 GHz. But for the past few days I have experienced a strange and extremly annoying problem. My comp reboots with out any visible cause and error msg. At first it only happend when I was playing CS, so I figured it was the drivers, but that didn't help, so then I thought maybe someone is 'nuking' me, so I innstalled a firewall, but that wasn't the problem either.... And the reboots come without warning, they can happen at anytime, no matter what you are doing with the comp. The rig is like this : Win XP RC1 2505 IBM 16GB 5400RPM 382 MB RAM (SDRAM 100Hz) AMD Athlon @ 1GHz (7.5x133) Nvdia Geforce 1 32 Refrence Card Soundblaster AWE64 Ultra (ISA) 3Com Fast PCI Ethernet Adapter Realtek PCI Ethernet Adapter

I'v looked at the bios settings as well, but I really can't seem to find anything wrong. And this is getting on my nerves, coz I can't use the computer when it is like this......plzzz help!!!

How many watts is your powersupply...Amd suggests at least a 300w if it doesnt have enough juice it will spontaneously reboot...make sure the processor is getting plenty of cooling, should only max out around 45C when playing a game, if both are ok try upping your cpu voltage...hope it helps... biggrin.gif

I have a Aopen Maxi Tower with 300W and the CPU has a temp of 35C after 6-7 hrs of use, both gaming and otherwise... I have suspicion towards my RAM, though I have yet to confirm it. Another strange thing is that I though the AMD CPU's were factory locked at 9.5 multiplier.. but my cpu refuses to use anything higher than 7.5 multiplier. I figured I could put the multiplier up and the FBS down, to get it to run at 1GHz (it is a original 1GHZ) at 9.5x105 so that the FBS wouldn't 'kill' my RAM..but I couldn't get it to use any multiplier above 7.5?????

You may have a remarked CPU. Contact AMD and tell them the problem you are having. And make sure you have a thin layer of heatsink compound if the heatsink does not have a pad on it.
