Final version which is, however, just for show (2200+ polys) If anyone wants to use the part posted above (1500 polys) just drop me a note and I'll send you the md3. I'm also open for other requests till 26th june (holidays)
Wow, thats cool! Hewster, would that cannon be useable in the game?
nice tuco, you may also be able to cut down on some pollys by tapering from the breach section down to the barrel end without the bump (as many early cannons were like that) I'm also thinking that you can make it look more '3d' by giving it a textured skin (might be tricky) but you could add shading to make it look like it's got dips and curves where it actually doesn't. you could also make it an 'ornate' cannon with carvings too (all in the skin of course) As of yet we haven't got stats for cannons but you never know, it's been discussed a few times before.
@ Johnson, you may want to check with queeg about the female skins, that's on our 1.7 release wish list, so maybe coordinate with him.
WOW!!! Coming along nicely! Which program are you using?
Would it be possible to have a skinner work on some skins for the cannon too? Johnson, you should try skinning for the cannon. ;)
As said I dunno anything about acctually skinning models (or anything else) so if anyone wants to try to skin it I'll be glad to send it to him. Using Maya 5.0
Well, I was bored so I made this cannon. It's not as detailed as the previous; more like a smaller caliber than the one before. It's only 396 poligons, and I'm thinking of adding wheels. The only problem is I haven't yet found a way to make somewhat convincing wheels without them having LOADS of polys. I'll probably redo the previous gun too and try to lower the poly count even more.
here we go. A mobile cannon. Not nearly as accurate as the one in that topic, but it's only 1353 polys and it doesn't look that bad IMO. Suggestions welcome.
Now that is what I call really good. Fantastic, well done :bows:
Btw, if anyone wants to test the models or sumtin, just drop me a not and I'll send them over. They are texture-less tho
