Feel like your spinning your wheels in a clan that isn’t measuring up to your high expectations or want to play with a mature group that has an emphasis on serious gaming and community? Das Reich 2nd Panzer Division is opening up its doors in a short but massive recruiting campaign. We are seeking active team players that feel they are up to playing with and against the best in ladders and invitational tournaments. Prior clan experience is preferred, but we understand that many excellent players are wisely waiting to join a clan that meets or exceeds perceived clan standards.

How do I become a member of Das Reich? We are taking a new approach and coupling it with a tried and true method we use for recruiting. This method that we have is our tryout phase. Once a person shows promise and interest we issue a tryout [DRtry] tag that an individual wears while playing on our server. During this time you are placed under the microscope and carefully watched by DR2nd members. What we look for is commitment by playing a lot on our server, how well you work with fellow teammates, individual skill, and overall positive attitude. Depending on your activity and level of talent will determine how long this tryout phase lasts. It may be as short as a week or two.

How do I become a Tryout? Mark this date on your calendar, Tuesday May 13, 2003. Here is where the new approach comes in. On this date at 9:30pm Eastern Time we will be holding a Tryout Tournament. It isn’t as menacing as it sounds. At this time we will divide teams with prospective tryouts and DR2nd members dispersed. In match fashion we will then have a countdown and begin battle. While the battle is taking place DR2nd members who are not actively playing will be watching the prospective tryouts, observing skill levels and level of teamwork. This is not a match to see who wins. It is very likely DR2nd members will be setting up scenarios to see how individuals and the teams react. Individuals who show a talent level that DR2nd is seeking will receive an email shortly after the match confirming that a [DRtry] status has been granted. The reason for the email after the tournament is to allow DR2nd members to confer concerning the interested players.

So all I have to do is show up on that night? No. In order to make sure the event runs smoothly and fairly we need to know approximately how many players to expect. What is required is to send an email to me at dr2nd@hotmail.com . We would also encourage you to post as a registered user in our forums at www.dr2nd.com under the enlistment forum or at our Battlefield Central forum found at http://www.bfcentral.com/forums/for...?s=&forumid=274 This is done to ensure that all interested parties get the appropriate information if unforeseen events occur and changes have to be made. Please include in your email your age and your specialization(s). As of 4-30-03 DR2nd has received information from 12 interested persons, so this is shaping up to be a large scale event.

So who is DR2nd? Good question. It’s important to know who your looking at joining. -DR2nd is a clan that actively participates in 12v12 and 8v8 ladders and invitational brackets. The ladders we are currently in are TWL 8v8, OGL 8v8 & 12v12, CAL 12v12, and SGL Invitational Brackets. -DR2nd, as of 4-30-03, is ranked #1 in OGL 12v12 and #1 in 8v8, recently progressed to #5 in TWL 8v8, in SGL we are in the Semi Finals of the 8v8 invitational bracket, and are 2-0 in the CAL (12v12) regular season. -DR2nd will be returning to 12v12 in TWL but for scheduling purposes we have currently removed ourselves for better focus. -DR2nd is a clan with the majority of its membership around the early to mid twenties age bracket. We do have member’s ages that span from 17 to 32. -DR2nd is very active in many community venues involving Battlefield 1942. This is an important aspect of DR2nd. We are committed to the further advancement of the battlefield community. -DR2nd is a committed group of friends that takes its gaming and its image seriously, while having fun. No smacktards are allowed in DR2nd. -DR2nd continues to watch the skill progression of its members by offering a reward system to help each member push him/herself to greater heights. -DR2nd is all about team play. Strategies and tactics are constantly used to achieve the win. -DR2nd expects a certain demeanor towards others from its membership. Establishing friendships with other clan members and non clan affiliated players is encouraged by displaying a level of friendliness and respect towards all, as long as that respect is returned in kind. -DR2nd strives for a high standard of playing ability and a level of honor. Cheating of any kind is not tolerated. Any persons showed to be using a cheat of any kind is subject for immediate dismissal. DR2nd subscribes to integrity is everything and once it is lost it can never be fully regained. -DR2nd has multiple divisions to encourage a superb level of skill and specialization in a given field. -DR2nd currently has 2 dedicated servers. One is used for open public play while the other is specifically used for match usage. (See www.dr2nd.com for server IP’s or do a search for DR2nd) -DR2nd is a North American clan. We have members that stretch from sea to shining sea in the US and into Canada.

Sound like something that fits the bill for you? By all means then, send us your email and we can get you on the road to become a tryout in Das Reich 2nd Panzer Division.
