Guys, I have the whole BF1942 Series including the Mod Desert Combat, everything worked ok pretty good when i had the v3.5 ati driver. You know me always tweaking and trying to get the best out of my comp so i kept on upgrading the drivers all the way up to v3.10 and beyond. The problem was that some of my games would suffer in frame rate and i knew it was the drivers, even in BF1942 + Mods objects werent solid and clear and poor frame rate. From going from v3.5 to v4.2 ATI driveri knew there should have been a big improvement but not the case with some games like Call of Duty (graphic card and PC eater), Counter Strike (simple) and RTCW + ET (perfect) you see all the drivers never addressed everything for all games to be perfect. But now finally the v4.3 driver has worked its addressed everything from graphics to fps and much more for all my games even the RTS and the racing games. Try it out and get from ATI and also get the ATI Tray Tool v1.26 or something is not made by ATI, just type it in google and you'll find it. Nice piece of kit it is, the web page for it will be in russian but dont worry once installed it will be in english. Anyways back to the v4.3 driver, if like me you had a few problems with any of your games esp BF942 get the driver and give it a go cos it fixed everything for me ! I think a video card would help you more then new drivers will. You have everything else why not lay down a couple of hundred for a 9800 pro or something. A 9200 you computer is like fitting a Porsche with wal-Mart tires

I dl 4.3 and I'm having some difficulty with it. When I go to load BF, It either crashes to the desk top or it looks as though everything is pulling to the right and down meaning that it is not centered. How do i fix this? oh, i forgot to mention that I have the 9700pro

well, i fixed the oversize problem. here is how you do it if anyone else is having this problem:

1. Double Click My Computer 2. Double Click C:\ 3. Double Click Program Files 4. Double Click EA GAMES 5. Double Click Battlefield 1942 6. Double Click Mods 7. Double Click bf1942 8. Double Click Settings 9. Right-Click VideoDefault.con and choose Open (if prompted for a program to use select Wordpad) 10. Edit the line renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1 to renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0 11. Save and Close the file.

This will cause the game to run with the main menu at the proper resolution. *Please note by following the steps above the game must be run with a refresh rate of 60hz. Running the game at a higher refresh rate will result in a crash following a black screen when attempting to start the game. now, the problem i'm having is when I go to start the game, you see the battlefield 1942 sign, then the screen turns black for about 3 or 4 sec. and then it minimizes to my desktop. The game will not start up until I maximize it. when I try to get into a game, it minimizes again and will not load no matter how many times I try to maximize it. Is there a way to fix this? thanks

I know what your saying my graphics card isnt upto scratch, but u see i have a 3yr warrenty on my machine and if i wanna get a new card let say the ATI 9800 XT 256mb (awesome) and i open up my machine to install it my warrenty be void. So basically i'm stuck on what to do ! Did i for forget to mention i have a DVD-ROM and DVD-RAM which writes to any type of disk eg CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD RAM so if something goes wrong and i do get a better graphics card i'll be stuck, Touch wood since i got my PC everythings been fine. Its super quick and it can handle anything. I dont know what to do i wanna replace the graphics card and maybe the onboard sound even though thats works and sounds great with anything, its unbelievable playing games in 5.1 sound, trust me it sounds wicked. Maybe i'll keep the machine for 3 years and then replace with another machine which at the time will be alot powerfull then one i have, my graphics card is ok it handles all the games i have but i know with the next generation of games coming up i might get a few problems i dont know until i get half life 2, Farcry etc but ever since i got this 4.3 catalyst from ATI my graphics card is running great better then before. Anyways if you have a solution to my problem please reply, would'nt it be great if they made external graphics card for people who dont wanna open up there machines (warrenty and all) they do it for sound cards why not graphic cards !
