Want to get and Audigy card so I can hopefully lose the lag with 4.0. I see some guys say get the Audigy Gamer and others say get an Audigy2 card.
So which one is better?
I've tried to compare specs and cant see really anything that an Audigy2 has over the Gamer that helps in gaming. Does the Gamer actually have something that the Audy2 doesnt? or is the Audigy2 the same card with all the DVD and recording stuff built in?
well, really the Audigy2 is better. but when it comes to gaming, there is almost no difference. except that the Audigy2 supports 6.1 speakers. and the Audigy gamer only support's 5.1, so if you want to game, i would recommend the gamer. but if you want to record music and all kinds of music stuff and game, then i would recommend the Audigy2. so it all comes down to if you want to do music, game, or both. and how much you want to spend on them. cuz the Audigy2 is about $200, and the Audigy gamer is about $100. and btw i know all of this stuff cuz i have too computers, and one has an Audigy2, and the other has a Audigy gamer. hope this helps!:cya:
Actually I picked up an Audigy 2 for 80 bucks off newegg.com, you just have to be sure not to buy the card with all the extras (like the front panel and other stuff). The card itself is rather cheap, that is all you really need. I would assume an Audigy Gamer would be even cheaper. Check into it, it really helps.
Get the Gamer at newegg $87.00 http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?DEPA=&submit=Go&description=Audigy+2
