Hey all,

Last night I was accused of cheating & kicked from the server I was playing on. I am on 56k. I do not cheat, nor do I even know how to.

I am an average player. I have my good days & my bad days. Last night I had a good night & was lucky. I had a low ping of 158 on a server with 20+ people playing. After about 2 hours of playing, I was in first place for both sides. This dosen't happen very often. I had about a 4 to 1 kill ratio. I was accused of cheating & was told that it was impossible to have my score & that playing BF42 on a 56k was in no way possible.

Since I do not have, nor ever played this game on DSL or Cable, I do not know what it looks or feels like playing against someone on a 56k. I do know that if my connection is poor, then I get alot of skipping on my end & that even though I am shooting at a guy that LOOKS like he is in front of me, when I go to shoot him, I do not get a kill because in reality he is already at another spot. So I am actually at a disadvantage when I play this game online.

I have asked more times than I can remember if I was slowing down the gameplay in any way since I have a 56k connection & I have always been told no.

My question to those of you that have a good fast internet connection is, what is it like to play against someone on 56k. Speaking for myself, more times than not, I get OWNED. I often have the highest deaths on the server I am playing on. Whan I fly a plane, even though it is smooth as silk on my end, I can't hit jack squat when flying due to the hit detection & signal loss. (ping & packet loss)

After all this, how can I even be cheating??

Look at my BF42 Stats on the website...lol...thats proof enough... any help would be great.

Thanks all!!

-Jeff a.k.a "Mobile Repair Guy"

i have found that playing with with 56k peeps doesnt slow down play much....UNLESS they have way crazy ping. there is a thing with trying to shoot at 56k peeps with them "teleportiing" and being hard to hit, but i guess that goes with online playing lol

Yes there's actual cheating online, part of which came to us from the 1.3 patch with wallhack included, heh. But there are a lot of people that cry wolf so to speak and it would seem you ran into some of them.

For a lot of legitimate 56k users, the lag is certainly a hindrance- not always, but often, although it's just as much a pain in the ass to hit you as it is for you to hit us. Some people however simulate lag with packetloss and tweaks to their connection settings to gain an advantage, making themselves harder to hit while still having a marginal drop in their own ability to hit targets. :fistpunch: If an honest 56k'er scores in the top 5 through helping his team I say right on, helluva a job. Just don't go on a Jedi Knight II server.. laggers there are irritating as all hell. :p

I hate to say it but i have personally seen over 25 different hacks for this game alone. most of them are fog hacks which remove most or all fog from the map. seen 3 anti recoil hacks as well and some nasty ones that paint color schemes on each team so you can see them easily from long distance or in the air. so if your picked off from a sniper from a long distance away tell an admin to watch him. i have a no fog hack that i only use in sp mode. it lags me to no end online. so some others must have even better machines then me. it sucks but it will get just as bad as counter strike before long.

Lag friendly to you, yes. To me, no. I don't even want to think about how many times a lagger scores a lag hit on me when he's about 15 feet away.

By the way, as Vitaerus I was ranked second (waiting for no.1 spot to become available to challenge) & undefeated on NF (and challenging for first on FF, also undefeated) until I quit TWL (had a 2 month trip to Australia coming that I deemed more important than JK II competition, heh). So I ownerz j00, laggy! :p

Anyhow, my point wasn't that laggers can't be good in JK II, far from it in fact, but they're definitely very aggravating to those of us with a respectable ping and who like our hits to land when a saber actually passes through someone, heh.

Try playing online with a ping of 44kbps it is hell for me. Ive been killed also because I randomly dropped some bombs onto the runway in Midway and hit a APC that was fully loaded.
