Considering it's an early Alpha, I don't think you can judge it yet. Usually Alpha's aren't even released to the public.

Actually, I would consider DC more of a Beta. They have a base set up, but they have bugs to work out and additional features to add. The GIJ mod released their first working version of the game, very basic bugs and all. You can't take a very early Alpha and "rate" a game. They announced plans to release the Alpha with bugs and they admitted they knew about the bugs. They released early to show everyone what they were up to, but were very up front about the issues that were involved in the game. Usually Alpha builds are for development and internal testing purposes only. When something goes public, it's usually, but not always, in a Beta stage, meaning the smaller and more common bugs are squashed, but there are still bugs to be found and the game isn't complete. The fact that DC is at .25 would lead you to believe that they have had a few releases already, but since there isn't any consistancy to build numbering, then it's hard to tell.

All I'm saying is that. I liked the models but the game wasn't fun. End of story

See, what you just said is now the main problem with any mod for BF1942 that is released in Alpha phase will face. People will instantly compare it to Desert Combat's so-called Alpha. I'm so sick of hearing people say "Desert Combat is an Alpha too and it doesn't suck". Bullsh*t! Desert Combat is NOT an Alpha! I don't care what the DC Team calls it but it is NOT an Alpha by any means. Not even professionally made games have Alphas that bug free and near completion. I'd love to know how many internal releases that they've had. Thanks to the DC team calling their product an Alpha they have damned all other mods that release in Alpha phase with lesser finished content. Smells fishy to me in many ways considering the competition between mod teams on various games lately. I hope that the GI JOE Dev Team keeps up the good work because by the time they go Beta I know their mod will rank in the Top 3 mods for BF1942.
