Hello all. How are we doing? I have been away for some time (trying to make LOMAC work) and have finally gave up and came back to good old BF1942. I am old scholl and have played since the original release. I was just wondering if there are any new hints or trick that have arisen since my departure with regards to increasing fps during gameplay. I have the sound accel off and play in 800*600 16bit color but just thought that there may be a new holy grail fix that can be performed.

My Specs AMD 2600+ Processor 1GB DDR RAM 160GB HD On board AC3 Sound Radeon 9200SE 256MB

It's good to be back and hope to frag you on the BF sometime. :naughty:

I don't take that for a SECOND. I had the 7500 64mb at one time, and my computer had problems running jk2! A Quake 3 engine game. I could run bf1942 on my GeForce 4 ti 4200 64mb at 640x480 with everything maxed out, but at 1024x768 I had to lower all the settings to the lowest in order to get decent fps. Now I have a Radeon 9600 Pro overclocked, and can run 1024x768 with 4xAA/4xAF and it looks sweet :p.

P.S. My system specs were the same as yours.

Hi all,

You can, even on a fairly low end vid card, get good FPS out of BF with graphics on high in 800X600.

The tricks are, turn off AA and AF in your vid card settings, turn off shadows in the ingame BF settings, turn everything else up high, that should give you 60+ FPS even on a GF4 MX400.

Have fun
