OK, so far I enjoy 1.4 patch, but I cant live without the online play.
I have removed Merciless (prior to updating) and now I have only one question, Do I have to remove all 3rd party maps? Could I create a folder in which to keep my extra maps and then re name that folder when i want to play a 3rd party map?
Also, Which Files should I leave in as far as original EA / Dice maps go?
As for what I can see, I have 16 original "MAPNAME.RFA" files and 16 "MAPNAME_000.rfa" files. Should I leave these and delete all the others?
I also notice a few "MAPNAME_003.rfa" files.
If someone has a "PURE" install, can you check your /mods/bf1942/archives/bf1942/levels folder and let me know what to keep in there ?
Can I leave my Desert Combat and EOD mod installed or do those have to go as well?
Any clues on achieving purity would be greatly appreciated.
I have attached a pic of what I believe I should be leaving IN (highlighted in blue) the rest to delete?
I dont really get what you are talking about but those maps with the number at the end like "MAPNAME_003.rfa" are offical updates to the leavels that came with the game most of them are from you patching your game.
Hope that helps
so, the MAPNAME_000.rfa and MAPNAME_003.rfa files all stay. Excellent.
I have now backed up all my 3rd party maps onto a different drive. Is the 3rd party maps a deal breaker as far as EA is concerned about PURE?
Do I also need to uninstall the DC and EOD mods to become "PURE"
you can leave all your MOD files in there and you will be "Pure". This game was designed for MODs and thats why there is a folder called "Mods" in your dirrectory. Just don't have any 3rd party server utilites or map editors installed in Battlefield dirrectory because the dector will detect those and say there hacking devices.
