I started out with the demo of bf before it hit the streets. And when It wqas released I bought it. I've never had problems except for the small bugs that everyone else experienced. Then they came out with the 1.2 patch. It fixed alot of small problems the game was having. And it worked pretty good. It never crashed to the Desktop Until 1.3 came out. it started out crashing Once in a great while. Now sometimes it crashes to desktop3 or more times during a game on line, I even had it do it in single player mode. But what gets me is I'm not the only one crashing, At first I thought it was only me. I play online with 8 other friends, we all talk on teamspeak. And during a game at least 4 or 4 of us crash to desktop. It really sucks when your flying a plane and have the flag.... or you take a tank in Gazala All the way to the other side and PooF. it crashes..
I really hope they get this bug fixed, And an Anti Cheat installed into the game.. PunkBuster is a good one..
Is there alot of crashes in bf ? Give your opinion. Let EA Know that this is a big problem and it seems to be getting worse not better.
I too experience desktop crashes once in a while. Sometimes it crashes after 2 min of playing, sometimes I play for several days without any problems (of course I don´t play for days without break, I still have to eat, shit and sleep) :) Another problem that sometimes hits me is that the computer re-boots in the middle of a game. Very annoying. I bet it´s that sodding firewall.
PunkBuster would not be a very good solution, imo. That crap is messing up my RtcW. I keep getting kicked because of some pbag.dll files are missing. Even after I re-install them it keeps screwing me over.
I just installed the S9 Realism Mod and now I cant even start BF1942, it just goes black for a second then back to my desktop.
There seems to be some issue with some motherboards and 1.3. I had lots of crashes with 1.3 (and some weird deal where the registry was being reset by the program - Windoze would act like some new hardware had been installed), but managed to find a patch for VIA motherboards that closes the RX55 timing register in bios. Fixed the problem for me. I guess a lot of motherboard manufacturers are starting to close this register, you may want to try a bios update. Or maybe the patch of the patch will fix this - should be out soon. Good luck
My BIOS is up to date.
Not really, on average I get 1 or 2 crashes to the desktop a month. I always assumed it was my CPU, it runs a little hot and theres not very good ventalation in the room.
i got the crashes right when it gets to the chosse profile, i thought its was new cat 3.1 drivers then dx9, it seems to work for about 2 weeks.....then crashes again. i uninstalled game reinstalled 3.1 cat and dx9 then game and all runs fine now. bios undate is no good as there is none higher then i got....just hope it works for at least another 2 weeks lol
i have had 2 crashes like that since i installed RtR. maybe i'll try a bios update.
yeah mine does that all the time esescialy scence 1.3 came out.
Punkbuster's all right. I used to get that pbag error also, but some update fixed it ages ago. Now if I could only remember what... :uhm:
