well, I'm not absolutely sure about the 352nd Jager division that defended Omaha, but for the rest it's sure that it's that for the german elite, the SS were the "bests" but the fallshamagers were bad asses too :p

Falschrimjagers were the paratroopers of the 3rd Reich. Although after the North African campaign many Falschrimjagers never recieved any parachute training at all. In the Battle of the Blulge 1,200 Falschrimjagers were suppose to drop behind enemy lines in Heinkle HE-111's but due to a lack of fuel only 400 of the Falschrimjagers made it to the airfield. There were also some highly trained Falschrimjagers that were part of Otto Skorzeny's brigade in Battle of the Bulge. His mission was to create havoc by him and his troops wearing the American uniforms. This tactic was considered legal by the Geneva Convention but they couldn't attack in the stolen uniforms. ****** decided to make the Falschrimjagers a more ground unit after a disasterous battle in North Africa where 4,000 Falschrimjagers were to parachute into a city (forgot which one.) 3,000 of the 4,000 died before they even touched down. After that ****** lost confidence in them. Hoped this helped. I'm not sure what units were defending Normandy but I do know that Erwin Rommel was the overall commander of the Normandy since almost all of the high officers were in Berlin for the weekend. The German Elite troops were the Waffen-SS, although the Furer Belgit Brigade which was ******'s personal guard. They guarded the Reichschancellery and other important government buildings. During the Battle of the Bulge ****** increased their size to a brigade (hence the new name)and sent them off as a combat unit. Yes the Russian sub-machinegun of the time was the Ppsh41. It had a 70 round drum and was developed when Russia had a war with some Netherland country (forgot which one.)

Even though you can't know all the history there is, not even military, there's just too much of it. :)

PPSH41 flick

Just a small treat. :)

Some things you said weren't quite right.

The battle that lost the Fallschirmjäger theyre reputation was the invasion of Crete, but they did get slaughtered there.

And Russia never invaded or went to war with a nether country (E.G. Netherlands, Belgium, Perhaps Luxumburg.)

They went to war with Finland, in 1938-1939. (Called the winter war) Military specialist of that time expected that the Russians would waltz over the Fins, but eventhough they lost more ground then the Russians wanted to take in a peace offer. They did held the Russians at bay.

And eventhough the Fins didn't like the Nazi's they did allie themselves with them, but it was more out of Self preservation.

4. The PPSh41 was introduced in 1941, in time for the German invasion.

About the Finnish Winter War: it was fought in 1939-40. After that Finland joined Germany to reclaim the land they lost to the Ruskies. Finally, the Finns got sick and tired of the expensive war and kicked the Germans out of there in 1944-45. After WWII Finland was forced to sign a peace treaty with the Ruskies in 1947, losing 10% of it's land and a couple of naval bases. :deal:

That's a nice chick you got there, Von. Your little sister? :naughty:
