I'm gonna have to say that the three best war movies I've seen were Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, and Black Hawk down, all for their historical accuracy. While Band of Brothers goes deeper into the meaning of it all, Saving Private Ryan is an excellent movie. You gotta think for a sec, D-Day has been made into at least 3 other movies that I can think of, and this one is still historically accurate and doesn't add alot of Hollywood crap that you see in Pearl Harbor.
Ok, I'm done preachin'.
one thing that a lot of war movies don't show is "friendly fires". in "windtalker", "band of brothers" and "born on the fourth of july", at least they show 'bout friendly fires. in large scale war, there's as much friendly fires as enemy fires. well in "band of brothers" it was more of a stupid accident.
