whatever stick u buy, make sure it has a z axis.(u can twist the joy stick) you need that for rudder control. i have a MS sidewinder precision 2 it works fine. about 50 US:rock:

Ide suggest looking for a joystick that has a twist handle as well as the x and y axis and also has a throttle. After that think about what youde want to bind to it ect, I use 7 buttons on mine leaving like 13 left over lol

I use a Logitech Strikeforce 3d force feedback and my kids use a Saitek Cyborg 3d digital. I perfer the force feedback, even though bf doesnt support feedback you can set the centering spring outside the game and it feels more precise then a non feedback controller imo.

blah blah blah go to a comp store, see what sticks feel good in your hand /joysticks I mean/ and grab one.

*warps*

i have the microsoft sidewinder2 force feedback and its pretty good. the force feedbacks pretty cool to use, but you dont really need it. just get one that you like, logitechs got some cheap forcefeedbacks. Dont go for the cheesy $200 ones with "real authentic aircraft metal" and the seperate speed thing. YOU dont need them. OR be a crappy flier and use the keyboard....the choice is yours.

I use the $10 walmart joystick, 2 buttons, 2 axis. Use the strafe keys on your keyboard for rudder since you have your hand on the keyboard anyways.
