I think, someone outta make an infantry machine gunner mod. or it should be in the expansion. Have the same firing way as a troop carrier machine gun or a tank gun and the same power. Imagine get close to an enemy base and when you hit the "prone" button, it would automaticly deploy its tripod and be stationary with a lot of punchpower to take down a howitzer or mow down infantry with ease. Also, how about rockets for the airplanes? I was watching a WWII footage and that's what they used mainly against tanks. it looked awesome as 2 planes crushed a whole tank battallion using rockets as they dropped down, then they switched to machine guns after running out of rockets. The Tiger tank should have a machine gun on top so 2 people can fit in. i was also thinking of stationary artillery guns and mortar teams in the game. And dont tell me all these would throw the game out of balance. I'm sure it would balanceable even with these new weapons. Also the respwanning shouldn't take so long. it would be more brutal fight, with short respawnning for soldiers and machines alike. What do you think?

alright. nevermind. i looked around and these mods are already made. Too bad that they didnt come with the game though.

i see a couple of mods for airplanes, but only for single player. i also saw some mods for jeep outfited with guns and stuff. check out www.bf1942files.com should be a bunch of mods for them.

Ok as long as the machine gun ammo is limited. Soldier carried machine gun ammo is very limited in the real world due to it weight. Also a mchine gun is a crew served weapon (someone carries the gun or gun part like the tripod etc, and someone caries the ammo or part thereof.) so they are usually vehicle mounted or use in defensive positions. So using the machine gun in the attack would require several soldiers working together otherwise this would be abused/spammed. The answer to this was submachine guns and we already have the assault class and medic. :cool:

i can think of a mortar team though, requires 2 soldiers and would work the same way as an artillery, except more precise hits and easier targeting by not needing scouts to call in to spot a target. Just have the map set the coordinates and distance on the gun (just like in real world) and target an enemy base with the mortar gun and pound the hell out of it. I would also loved to see exploding/respawning buildings. Imagine if the engineer could blow up the bridge with dynamite while tanks crossing. Of course you have to pay the price of having your own ground units stuck because of no bridge. the bridge would re-spawn just like vehicles, but if used correctly could be devastating against a tank rush. Another thing, trenches. I mean built trenches with ammo crates and mounted machine guns. I like the trenches on the omaha beach map, but there is really no use of it, because it's just too deep and too far from the shores. it would be awesome on a flat terrain trenches connecing bunkers with big artillery guns pounding the oncoming enemy.
