Firewalls, configuration errors, not being able to create and log onto an internet game using the same computer, router problems, NAT problems, creating a LAN game instead of internet game, computer not being visible to the internet, umm, probably a few more I can't think of offhand but you haven't exactly supplied heaps of info for us to work with. Such as, how are you connecting? are you using a router? Are you creating the game and trying to view it on one computer, or a different one on the same subnet, or a different one ona different connection, have you opened the required ports in your firewall if you are using one etc?

more info please

Basicly he's saying you're most likely behing a firewall, you're starting a network game, or something with your ISP prevents you from hosting.

Hi Nazi_eliminator,

There's only so much help we can supply over the forums. If you don't know even the basics about your own internet setup and how to change it then there's very little we can do to help.

FYI there are two types of firewall, hardware and software, the hardware firewall is a dedicated device, either another computer or a router with built in firewall, that sits between your computer/s and the network. The software firewall is a program that runs on your computer and protects just your computer.

How your firewall works depends on what type it is and what software it uses, whether you can get around it depends on whether you have access to the firewall and knowing how it works. I would suggest that with your level of knowledge you forget about hosting games over the internet and just play on internet servers.

have fun
