I run a PIII 800MHZ, ya that's right 800 mhz. No problems at all.
800 mhz ATI Radeon 7500 Sound Blaster Live! Value Card 384mb ram Direct X 8.1 Windows XP
I do fine, i mean most people have better computers than me and complain more than I do. Just make sure that your card has TL or else you'll be running around the map with a black and blue screen.

BF1942 rocks on full settings i.e textures on 100% i havnt done a fps test on DC but my games are never jerky or laggy(DAMN THE 56 K BUT thats a long story i.e ADSL not aval......)
p.s the ti4800 is ..like wow! im very happy with it. :agreed:
Here's mine: P4 2.5ghz (533 FSB) 1 Gig DDR Ram Intel motherboard Lacie 21" 108 electron monitor Thrust master Fox2Pro shock joystick Geforce4 4600 ti (128mb DDR) Fortissimo 2 surround sond card SCSI Plextor burner SCSI Plextor reader Pioneer DVD-R 105 Windows XP Pro 2 x 60 Gig Quantum fireball (7200) microsoft optical mouse 1 Meg Cable modem
The game rocks, but since the DC add on, it's even better. Good luck with your upgrade :D
My Specs are : AMD Athlon XP 1800+ Nvidia Geforce 2 MX/400 64mb :( 256mb DDR PC2100 RAM 8GB Hard-Drive Creative Soundblaster PCI 128 Soundcard CD-ROM 48x-Speed
I am so pissed off with my machine, I get lots of lag with 64 players, I have checked the FPS and it is ranging between 1-5fps. Now I have to run BF1942 on Low Detail!!!!
I wish I could upgrade but my parents are short for money so there isnt really a point of saving up. :uhm:
So, thats really all I wanted to say, if anyone has any suggestions of making me happier, then please tell me them, thanks again.
PS. You can overclock an ATI Radeon 9500 to be just as good on performance as a 9700 Pro, I have read this in the latest PCFormat magazine I bought. (April Edition) Cool,eh?
Your fps problem is mostly from your vid card. The GF2 MX's don't cut it for this game, a budget upgrade to a GF4 MX440 would help. More mem would help of course, and a faster HDD, but if you're short of money your priority should be vid card. I don't know where you are from but if you're in the US you are looking at around $50 even at top prices, and cheaper if you shop around.
